It's good stuff for FL Studio and AudioRealism Bassline. Nice full track. Missing some low end.

Fl studio and audiorealism bassline?
I dont use those....

Posted by mysticalninja on Aug-14-2006 20:47:

That sounds like a fruity kick sory.. Maybe you over-compressed it? and that's no NL2/3 bass that's for sure..

Posted by gr8ape on Aug-14-2006 20:49:

Your making me bad trip lol
I used virus C and cubase for everything.

The kick is a sine wave i pitch shifted, and the bass is a saw wave with some filter enveloppe, both being compressed with waves C1 comp........i mustve fucked up real bad then

Well I'm not really into that style, but the bass is too dry. A/B with some infected mushroom tracks. Try slight reverb on the bass, make sure it's reverb you can eq though. Can't have any lows. Also turn the ratio down on that compression, or choose another sample. Not enough low end at all.

Posted by gr8ape on Aug-14-2006 20:55:

what does A/B mean lol
Infected is my favorite btw

Put an infected mushroom track with a similar bassline on in your playlist, also put your mp3 there, switch back and forth and listen, first thing you should notice is your lack of lowend in kick and maybe bass too. What did you generate the sine with to make that kick?

Posted by gr8ape on Aug-14-2006 21:02:

I made a 60 hz sine with soundforge and messed with the pitch shift.
Im actually trying opther kicks right now, and some settings were wrong for the kick (too loud input for the compressor). You were right for the kick thx for that.

infected=god lol

Why not use your virus? Infected Mushroom used to have a tutorial on making a kick drum with a virus.. or was that for a nord lead? Anyway I'd say keep your ratio between 1-3 maybe 4 on the kick/bass comp.

The tutorial was for soundforge

What attack-release is ideal for kick-bass compression?

Posted by mysticalninja on Aug-14-2006 21:15:

release between like 100-200 and 0 attack or as close as you can get. sometimes alittle attack is good for adding punch to the kick, depends on your threshhold though.

You should think about recording a Virus sine and importing it into SF to play with the pitch shift env. Surly your virus can generate a fatter sine than Sound Forge.

hi. i am listening to ur track. it sounds good. altough i dont think is fullon but rather a new aproach to goa. the bassline sounds good and i think the mixdown if quite fine. i dont know wtf "fruity sound" is , and i also would be worried if someone told me that! maybe the track at some points seems overly mechanical sound and the percs may need some more work. but the sound is overall fine to me. think u should get feedback from people more keen to this sound. the leads by the way are great!! no way thats some fruity shit, thats clear to me.
i think thata musically some other percs could work better and the arrengement on the song may need some building. well it sounds cool, has some good original moments, other are common places, i would concentrate on doing some more weird unexpected shit and avoid cheese.

usually 10 ms or lower, depending on the kick. Most commonly 0 ms though. release should be how long the tail is, and some ms more.

I have updated the link in my first post, Kick is now smoother, but deeper, and i added a couple of little effects and stuff.

the clip intro sounds great!
i dont really mind the kick, it goes well with the bass i think.
what did you use for the bass?
i wouldnt really call this fullon, its a bit to mellow for it but there is alot of potential in this.
you should keep working on this .
cheers!
