The hard dance thread

I'm trying to create an exclusive hard dance thread, so people can discuss and ask questions regarding hard dance of all forms, discuss dj's existing and upcoming, what events are coming up, rate cds etc.

I'll start off by looking at upcoming events.

September 8th - Pharmacy (imo the best organiser od hard dance events in Australia, any event by them is not to be missed.)
Feat. Yoji Biomehanika (my favourite dj), Leeroy Thornhill, Thomas Schumacer and Fred Baker.

Godskitchen - amongst others it has Cosmic Gate, hard trance legends

Kryal - this is gonna be huge, being organised by pharamcy, and so far confirmed are scot project (the godfather of hard trance) and kamui (imo the future of hard trance)

HARDSTYLE MUST DIE!

i am all for good Hard Dance and Hard House, but this hardstyle shite is beyond me! it causes birth defects!

COme to Phat and Furious at Ace Morning Bar this friday!! Uk Hardhouse with an oldskool twist

I'll be honest, when I first started mixing I was into a bit of the hard stuff... but hardly ever listen to it now. Cosmic Gate and Walt/Feliz is my bag.

I went to a Pharmacy a couple of months back to check out all the hoopla... not sure hey.. imo the Brisbane teams put on equally good shows, but then again hard is the only way everyone there wants their EDM.

Having said that..... Kyral has been hyped too much for me not to go (no matter who's running the show) so I will definitely be there with bells and probably clothes on.

hahaha

Pharmacy will be good, hopefully Dana & The Prophet will be good too, I think thats 2 weeks after Pharmacy!

Looking forward to Kryal as Ive never been before!
Kamui should be good

There is a lot of hardstyle mozzi cheese head doer tracks, but there has a few good ones I like with DEEP DARK THUNDERBASS.

hahahaha

oh yeh A*S*Y*S is coming next year March Pharmacy!

I like Cosmic Gate's latest track-should have known I think its called, it has nice soothing lyrics.....haha

LOL BEN weren't you a raver into the hard music a few years ago?

haha Taubs Yoji is crazy, hahahahahaha he makes me laugh.......

hahaha PKC SHUTUP!

is it them pulling the big crowds tho,
or is it the event to go and get shitfaced at which draws the crowds?

a bit of both i think
then again you always get your crowd that are just there for someplace to take their drugs which is sad.

pharmacy's doin a good job bringing down a variety of new djs (eg baker)
lets hope the diversity is consistent.

Posted by MiSSyM on Aug-15-2006 22:52:

Exactly^^^^ + you get that at most events.....people that go for the music & people who really have no clue about the music & just go out to get fukt up.....???
+ they're bringing Thomas Schumacher as well!

Yoji & Scot Project only come here once a year......its not as if they come every few months...

Amnesiaaaa...are you coming Pharm????

ah, but Alphazone doesn't come down anywhere near as much as 4 Strings. He's here literally 3-4 times a year. Adelaide's probably the only place in the world he can get a gig

Posted by taubs on Aug-16-2006 00:33:

I saw alphazone earlier this year, and they were nothing special, they are great producers, but pretty poor live.

I saw Yoji last year and he tore the roof off, he is awesome, love his stage antics.

Yet to see Scot Project, like his productions, love tocs1, yet to hear tocs2.

I agree hardstyle is shit, except for a couple of guys in the uk, a welsh duo called cally and juice play a mix of hard trance and hardstyle and they carve it up, fucking awesome, someone needs to bring them to Australia!
And a dude called kutski, if you havent heard this guy, you got get on it, he is part of the residency crew on radio one, in two hours he goes through hard house and hard trance, then to hardstyle, and then finishes with harcore and gabba, he is also known for dropping in a hip hop track every know and then and he's a decent scratcher as well. I have a set where he drops, Snow - Informer (old skool sort of hip hop), mixed in with the thomas the tank engine opening theme, some scratching and southpark samples and then mixes in Snow - Informer (Rocco vs Isaac Mix), basically a hard trance mix of the original, it is fucking insane!!

Posted by MiSSyM on Aug-16-2006 00:39:

Scot Project was real good last year!
He is one of my faves! Cant wait to see him again!

hahahahaa Yoji's on stage antics are nothing compared to Proteus'........

Posted by Platipus on Aug-16-2006 00:50:

Kutski is wikid! Yoji is the bomb, Haliwell is amazing, Tygon is Phenominal, and Slam will get your feet moving.

Scot project will always be the living legend of Hard Trance.

Posted by Fpcookie on Aug-16-2006 01:01:

its them pulling the crowds. just look at what ppl what said about them.

FYI people just go to ANY event to get shitfaced, not just hard events.

hmmmmmmmmm, i would say its about the same as comparing the taste and texture between cow & horse shit- they might be slightly different but youve still got shit in your mouth.
