John Askew is without doubt one of the hottest tech/psy/trance djs in the the world right now!
From guest appearances on BBC Radio One, to being asked to host his own weekly show on Londons prestigious Kiss 100 John Askew is now enjoying the rewards of over a decade of consistently hard work.

Today John continues his residency at The Gallery where each month he can be seen rocking the club along side the likes of Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong and just about every other credible dj from the international circuit. John also holds a residency for Ministry of Sounds worldwide tours which has seen him flying the flag for the world famous brand all over the globe.

In the past 3 years John has played on all the far corners of the globe including: North America, Canada, Australia, Russia, Brazil, Venezuela, Egypt, Eastern Europe, Sweden, Turkey, Cyprus, Malta, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Greece, Poland and of course all over the UK.

At the end of 2004 John signed to Judge Juless reputable Serious Management who today continue to manage Johns dj bookings.

2005 was an incredible year for John, but 2006 has already moved things up a gear. As well as hammering out more remixes and original tracks for the usual labels, he has also started up a new side project under the name DRUM CULT with his old friend Zak Frost which incorporates a variety of new and exciting electronic influences. Their debut single Radio will be released in September on Dirt Crew Recordings. Also watch out for wicked DRUM CULT remixes coming soon on a variety of reputable labels including the massive DRUM CULT mix of Its up to You by Sasse on Moodmusic.

Great to see some great nights still being put on in Adelaide, hope it keeps up when I get back.

If I wasn't over here I'd definetly be in to go (or better yet play ) at this event.

I have seen John Askew play and he is fantastic and not to be missed!

What was it you didnt like narcism? Just curious. Ive had John over before and ive seen him a few other times and he has always rocked it. I guess if your not a harder edge fan then maybe he wouldnt appeal as much, but he plays plenty of quality trance as well.

Were touring John, and hell be playing in Sydney, Adelaide, Melb, and Bris so check your local guides.

John Askew was Awesome last time he was out for us, if you missed it then go and see him at one of your local gigs... or better yet... fly around the country and check out all of them!

Cheers
Dan.

the fact that he was on after kyau and albert and menno de jong probably had something to do with it, just could not compare to the sets that they banged out, also it was quite late at night he lost the crowd by a considerable amount (which i thought they left) but when stoneface n terminal came on the crowd came back... just didnt like what he played and wasnt impressed with him.... maybe given he plays on a different day and i had more than 3 hours sleep for the whole weekend i may have enjoyed him.

Yeah thats a tuff one. Not exactly of similar styles. And coming on when people are tiring is never easy. I'd definitely give him another try though. Hopefully next time he rocks for you. I know he's capable of it.

I think you meant decent turn out, as it was one of our biggest nights to date. John rocked hard for sure.

first track seems pretty askew haha

only 20 mins in but they all sound pretty much like discover tunes so far, wouldn't be that hard to make a tracklist
