Hello! If you're my friend.....

PLEASE DON'T LET ME DRINK ANYMORE!!!!!

I don't know if it's because of the alcohol or the lack of sleep, or maybe both, but after I drink, I get really moody and depressed for like 2 days. I don't even need to drink to have a good time. I honestly think I'm allergic to alcohol.

Does this happen to anyone else, or is it just me?

After many episodes where I have acted like a complete douche I have come to the conclusion I can't drink white alcohol successfully (vodka, gin & rum). Not only do I feel terrible the following day but I also always spend every cent I bring and forget what I am even out to see. Dont even think about shots.

I stick to beer (which is tolerable) or wine (which I love but not cheap wine),or a nice sipping tequila or bourbon.

they are all the same n00b.

only thing that changes is that dark liquors give u more of a hangover because of the sugars in them.

Take some time off from drinking/partying and get some rest. Weed works wonders

i bet you're allergic to the alcohol or one of the other ingredients

Posted by austinscott on Aug-16-2006 21:34:

I mean alcohol is definitely a depressant. If you drink enough of it, it can certainly make you down & out the next day.

I can't say i've got down after only drinking a few drinks the night before; however, if I get hammered the night before, that's a different story.

I almost always get a little down in the dumps after a long weekend of drinking (say on a holiday weekend like 4th or Labor Day). When Monday rolls around i'm at work hating life and feeling like poo. By Tuesday or so when my system is rid of the alcohol though i'll feel better.

If you're getting down after drinking 1-2 drinks the night before, then try drinking some h20 in between drinks to make sure you are flushing your system. You also prevent a lot more hangovers this way.

Just my .02c

what i have found that helps me after a weekend of partying, any type of partying, are several things:

-working out: gets rid of the toxins in your body and gives you a a big dose of endorfins that helps to boost your natural "high"
-like austin said drink lots of water
-getting sun!!!!! believe it or not we get some vitiman D from the sun, heliotherapy or something like that, always raises my happiness level
-vitamins like the B's, C, and there is always 5htp which helps to replace lost seritonine(sp)
-and watch things that are funny on tv, laughter is always good for the soul

just my .02 and what i do after heavy partying

although i wish i could get as hammered as you julia on 2 drinks, i could save some serious $$$. damn my high tolerance

Thats exactly my regiment. Especially working out and getting sun. That first workout after a weekend of partying feels like your going to die though. You can feel the toxins pumping thru you.

Posted by fukuy98 on Aug-16-2006 23:44:

Lol, what a bunch of noobs. Simple answer: if you can't handle it properply, better stay away from it. Or better yet, quit partying. Lol
There's no such thing as " depressant alcohol" . " E" maybe, but not alcohol

Posted by Battlekat on Aug-16-2006 23:48:

Julia, I wish you the best. I just want to say a couple of things that I think everyone should realize.

We are all entirely responsible for our own behavior. (unless we have an uncontrolled mental condition which triggers psycosis.) Meaning, if you are getting cranky with people, it may be easy to blame the alcohol or lack of sleep, but in reality it's about how you view other people. Just because we are tired doesn't mean we snap at everyone. In fact, there are probably those that we would not snap at regardless of how tired we are. That should show you that it's more our attitude towards people in general that is usually the culprit with how we treat people. I've seen many people blame their childhood for how aggresive they are with people, or they blame some other person in their life. I usually bring up the fact that using a scapegoat to snap at people doesnt justify the behavior. We need to sit back and think about how we view others and how we want to treat people regardless of how we ourselves are feeling. We should treat our friends well, because if we treat our friends poorly we really dont deserve to have them as friends.
