Vestax dj mixer advice needed.

i planning to buy a new mixer and have to decide between the technics shmz 1200 http://panasonic.shop.by/pics/items/shmz1200s.jpg

and vestax VMC-004FXW
http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/s...T=Mixer&Sort=LA

i was wondering if anyone had any experience with these two mixers and could tell me what they think about them.

im leaning more towards the vestax mixer because of the effects its has, but im not quite sure about the white color - it looks kinda neat but for a long term it might get really boring.

please tell me your opinions on these two mixers.
thaks in advance.

Im selling mine on ebay...i took it out of the box, put it on my desk, and never ended up hooking it up, i got a xone instead a few days later for a steal and a half, but now im selling both, the xone is gone, it was a 464, didnt need all those inputs, it was ridiculous, it just looked good thats all, and it had no midi, or effects...the Vestax had effects, but no midi control, or PC Integration, now im losing a hell of a lot, (lost about 130 on the Xone) and im selling the vestax at way below cost...

the VMC 004 XL apparently has very good sound quality, i forget which user has one, i can dig it up. g2g for now...

link to my auction, if you're not one of the 2 already watching it:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

plus if you're in london it already has the european plug on it.

i have a 004XL and the sound quality is REDICULOUS....i love everything about this mixer including the cue circuit everything is just what i was looking for. I really dont think you NEED the FX model unless FX are something you are definately looking for, ive heard of people getting bored with effects very fast although from what i hear the 004's effects are solid enough. i highly recommend the 004XL pm me if you want to know more about it...

thank you for your replys guys!
so i see the soud quality is great.
i thinks its not bad to have those fx there, its fun to play around with them. one thing i dont like about the tehcnics one is that it doesnt have band isolation.

well i think its gonna be the vestax, thank you for your input guys, once i buy it, im gonna take a picture of my setup and post it in the picture thread!

nor does that technics have independant VU Metres on each channel, but i got used to the VU's on the A&H 464, just inconvenient for 3 tracks at once, but oh well, cant have everything in life.

I would just reconsider if i were you. I think you problably be better off buying the Vestax PCV-275 or the Ecler Nuo 4.

I recently bought my VMC 004 on ebay for $139.50. I haven't had the chance to hook it up to more than 1 channel yet, but I've tested it. Sound seems fine, and isolation is great. The knobs don't feel cheap and the faders are just right. Maybe the only tiny tiny complaint that will probably go away with time is the distance between the EQ knobs. When I turn them I sometimes catch the another knob (but not enough to turn another knob). It's not much of a problem though, just gotta get used to it.

@ SPAWNmaster, have you had this problem too? And how much did you get yours for?

I have the VMC002 which is essencially the exact same thing with only 2 channels. Loving it so far. Sound is great. The mixer feels very durable and well built. After 5 months faders are still working like when it was new.

Oh, god no. The 004 is WAY better than the 275 (which is my backup). I can't even imagine what you are thinking by recommending the 275 (which was discontinued 5 years ago) over the 004FX. And the Ecler Nuo 4 costs way more. Go with the 004. The Technics shouldn't even be an option. But the Ecler Nuo 3 should be.

By the way, why the white version? I think it looks great, but it also comes in silver.

wow, well i checked the nuo 4 and the price of it is too much for me, thanks for your advice thou.

Why white? i dont seem to find the silver version of it, if i could i would go for the silver one!

well its gonna be the 004fx, thank you everyone for your thoughts!!

hey glassball, i know what you mean, for someone with fat fingers (which isnt the case with me actually) it could be a problem but i think its just more an issue of getting used to it like you said. i actually dont even notice this anymore...i got mine for $175 from a TA and have absolutely no regrets. to the topic creator: the FX doesnt come in silver the other guy was thinking of the XL which is available in white and silver (the knobs look cheap on the white imho but still feel good).
