Very deep proggy psy/deep trance set......
Exactly as my girl Irena ordered, each track and transition approved by her, this mix is deep, dark, dirty and very progressive. This mix was also VERY hard to compile, taking over 80 hours and four months. Compiling a cd with another person did make the process a long one, but it was also something we both really enjoyed. This mix was also the nucleus of the set Norris and I played at Motion Notion this year. As well, this version is an edited master, my mixer is on the fritz and once I get it repaired a new unedited final mix will be posted.

Starts a bit slow at first, but otherwise it's an excellent set. Smooth mixing and not one bad tune. ![]()
im definately getting this one
Slow to start was the plan!!! BUt it does geat the noddle twisting further into the mix. My gf is EXTREMELY picky about her proggy tunes.
Glad you guys are enjoying the mix.
Freq - Short Life Again
Liquid Soul - Why
Was planning on using these in my next mix so you most likely have a beefy tracklist here. Review to come.
Tracklist looks good
This set had me strapped to my seat for the first 35-40mins... after that it left me in a regressive state. I could definately tell you put ALOT of hard work into this mix so it was more or less personal preference. Your mixing was good but theres always lots of room for improvement. Most noticeably the bass transition of track 6 to 7. When I get a few more listens in I'll give a more indepth review. All around you are one of the few select DJ's that incorporate my type of style which hovers around dark tribal and progressive house to progressive and psy trance. All in all you achieved exactly what you were looking for... a very deep dark moody mix
One last thing I believe the first track you have listed is mislabeled. If i'm not mistaken it should be:
Echotek - Away (Original Mix)
looks good indeed ... I'll give it a shot later I guess
Nokturnal your progpsy sets are easily the best on here. I still listen to the previous one you did. This one is great too.
More plz
Props for a Canadian (Calgary at that) Psy DJ... Downloading this now!
EDIT: BTW, your guys set at Motion Notion this year was SAVAGE!!... excellent opening set for John 00 Fleming...
Blazed, thanks for the detailed feedback, your comments are priceless as you yourself must know all too well as a fellow dj. I am of course pretty bummed the mix did not carry you through it's entire length, I find it really hard to slowly increase intensity without hitting the harder psy, which I am always tempted to progress too.
Thanks for correcting my tracklist too! Can't believe I slipped up like that.
J:\Digital, THE_Chris, thaks guys for your encouragement. Sometimes I get a little burned out on trying to fit tunes together, but knowing someone out there is diggin what I do really helps keep me motivated.
There are loads of dj's out there, but not many with the desire or the patience to try and take on a mix project like this. And when I hear someone else's efforts in a well thought-out and executed compilation, I know that they understand the insanity that goes along with doing one of these.
This is one hobby that seriously nearly drives me nuts!!!

*bump*

downloading at over 1mb a sec! amazing
I'll take a listen very soon.
It should be fast! We own our own server, so there are some perks to that. It's pretty pricey toy though....
Mix was down but is now back up.
Nokturnal, love your style, do you know any other DJ's that play similar to you?
I remember MoShic played this type of prog some years ago, I don't know if you know his mixed CD.. Distorted Patterns, pretty good stuff.
Hey thanks Piero.
Moshic has always been one of my favorite producers, and still is. I have not checked out Distorted Patters, but I surely will now.
Sorry I forgot to reply. I loved this mix. I listen to it while studying all the time.
Turns out this mix may have landed me gig in India....... got my fingers and toes crossed. =) I don't usually like to share something like that unless it is a certanty, but even if this trip falls through, the excitement of the possibily of heading all that way has me pretty happy to say the least.
Thanks for all the awesome support you guys. I am long overdue to be giving feedback on others mixes on this site, but now that I have a redicloulsy smokin fast new laptop I will be checking out others tunes.

D/L'ing now, will have a listen on my way to work tomorrow, be back with comments in the evening
Best of luck with that gig
You deserve it. You're easily the best 'amateur' DJ in this forum.
As I said, had a listen today on my way to and from work.. I liked what I heard. Technically, it was all very sound, except for some minor details in the transition from (I think) track 3 to 4, but that was hardly noticable anyway.
Structurewise it was well done too, as has been said before, it shows that thought has been put to the track selection.
Only letdown for me personally was the fact that the psy-ish tracks started too soon, I was well enjoying the deep and dark prog tunes too much. But well, to each his own
Those first two tracks I have to check out further, they're good.
EDIT: shite, no 12" releases as far as I can see.. Bummer.
HEHE
Those psy-ish tracks... they love them in India...
Would that be something like Deep-Dark-Progressive-Psy...?
Cause they're are not Psy per-se
