buy a apple mac powerbook ?

hi my friend is sell me a Apple Mac PowerBook G4 667MHz 667 MHz Titanium 15" 30GB well is a old computer but i wanna upgrade to 1gb ram (is 256 now) i want the computerfor make some music i dont have 1500 or $1000 for buy a new computer and this is my first apple so i wanna try with this one... what do u think buy or not ?

the price for the computer is $500

its not a terrible price for a g4 PB but its not that great either. id try and talk him down to $400 or less. but a 667 mhz processor is gonna be pretty limited running todays production software. you'd have a very hard time running anything fancy with that setup.

id keep saving and buy something more up to date.

well rightnow i have a old pentium 3 750mhz for producint (no live) and is working good.. i use only one software for make music and some vst and keyboard.

Well you seem to know what you need. But from my point of view, its a robbery. I would never pay that money for such an old laptop.

I paid like 400$ for a new 1.6Ghz/512mb pc laptop.

But if you are saticfied with a low performance, you do as you want. But as mentioned above, try to take down the prince to at least 300$. If he his a good friend, and knows what the market prices are on a laptop up to date, he will do so! Otherwise, i would say that he is trying to rip you of!
