Popup spyware on TA

I just spent the last 3 hours fixing spyware which i so conveniently got from a popup ad here, thanks!!!

Not only did I get 1 but literally dozens, I had to turn off my internet connection so it would stop downloading new ones.

that's happened to me b4 - but it's m,y works computer. We even have firewall, why does this still happen? I dunno, but I find if you are not logged into TA it will do it more often, then if you are signed in. just log into TA when you come to the site and hope that it doesn't happen again...

cheers

I wish, it popped up, my system slowed down to a crawl, i checked taskman, uknown exes left and right, so i turn off the net, restarted the pc and proceeded to clean up the system

the most oddest of things is that one of the spyware components locked access to system32 folder, explorer would simply freeze trying to open it

quite cheeky

my spyware didn't come from TA. I think it came from the version of Window Blinds that I had installed and well the spyware went right into my memory and nothing could fix it no matter how many scans I did with Ad-Aware or Spybot, so I had no choice but to format my whole computer last night.

How annoying.. especially when you forget to backup your email and favourites

Ahhhh that's bitch!! It's happened to me in the past. Now I always back it up like 100 times, b/c I've lost some pretty important things before!

Better check that it can handle it, lol, Vista got system requirements that makes Doom3 pale in comparison.

try browsing the boards while not logged in under your account.

There are more adds built into the threads, and pop ups, if you are not logged in.

I get them if I brows from somebody elses computer.

hahahaha.. ok good. I am glad I'm not the only one who thinks that
I love Doom2 and was soooo looking forward to Doom3, then I played it and nearly shit myself the first 20 min into the game. I continued to try and play it for another 20 min but it was just freakin me out too much that I uninstalled it and haven't had the balls to try playing it again

Posted by VERTiG0 on Aug-17-2006 12:28:

Oh man, Doom3 I had to play during the day, and only SUNNY days at that. And at like 1pm.

if you are using IE.. god help you.
you will get spyware and trojans no matter how hard you try not to.

firefox does the job, its the same shit as IE, just get use to clicking on a yellow red icon instead of a blueone.
