Jester safri and gouryella

Have not heard anything more lately from either Safri Duo or Gouryella.

Two of my fave artists.

Unless I've been living in a cave.

Think Safri last album was 2.0 or has there been another?

I believe you've been living in a cave

Safri duo is music for cavemen, so probably u've been living in a cave for quite a while.

You missed releases of albums 3.0 and 3.5

Gouryella is no more, because Ferry probably wants to do his own production, such as LEF or Watch Out

Nope, thats not true. Ferry said that Gouryella still lives, he just doesnt know when he will produce next track under this alias.

I dont think so. He also said hes looking forward to produce an 'oldschool' uplifting tune again.

*hands in the air*

Really! When did he say that?

just the one tune? how dissapointing

well if hes gunna do it, it might as well be a stunner, cant go tainting that 'gouryella' goodness now

There is no more Gouryella, can you imagine Gouryella with a electro and techy elements in it??

Posted by sensei_aki on Aug-22-2006 13:59:

If I missed 3 and 3.5 I wonder whether it is worth getting them. I only really have properly enjoyed the tracks "Played Alive, Samb Adagio, and Prelude". I hope there are more like that than any slower tracks with some singer on it.

And I know that Gouryella is an alias but the tracks they did were good and want more like it.
I don't know if the other aliases do similar styles.

Ligaya and Walhalla remain on my i-pod to this day.

I like

Safri Duo - Rise (Original Instrumental) of the first 3.0 album
Safri Duo Meets Ayla - Sunrise (Original and Reeloop Remix)

Right here:

Trance.nu: In your latest releases we can hear a lot of electro influences. On the various internet forums, Ive read that a lot of people would like you to produce a track again with the trance sound that was popular in 1999. What do you think about that?
Ferry: I think it would be great to make a 1999 feel track again and Im sure that Im going to do another huge trance bomb in the future for sure. I have to admit that when Im comparing the 1999 trance music, with the trance music thats being released nowadays, that the 1999 tracks are a lot more spontaneous. The old tracks have been produced in probably 1 or 2 days, so they just took the moment and than the melody and the beats were put together. In my opinion, producers had more of a Wow feeling when they composed a cool melody. I have that feeling a lot more with the old productions. Nowadays people are way too busy with making a track just perfect. I mean that now they are focussing more on the production, how its sounding and if a certain hi-hat sound is good etc. Dont get me wrong, thats cool if you like it, but in my opinion it would be nice if people would return to the old way of producing and I would like to do it myself as well of course. More spontaneous.

Looking forward to that then, Ferrys electro trance mostly doesnt do it for me, but Beautiful & Fire are pretty good club tracks.

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Aug-23-2006 14:02:

i believe it was tiesto who no longer wanted to be part of the gouryella guise...too bad some of the tracks produced under that guise were spectacular. Ferry's sole production of ligaya kinda shows who had the most musical influence when they collaborated.

It is a very good job that I kept those tracks I was on about.

Cos trying to buy them online especially as singles is a no go.

Unless they were second hand through amazon. Or through ebay.

I do prefer my tracks to have a decent melody more especially something harmonius turning into a trancey track, very much like ligaya, tenshi and samb adagio.

There is too much, I dunno what you call it, where its a four chord tune that just repeats itself while some woman sings over the top.

Usually about flying in the sky and feeling like heaven etc. And is never in tune.

The vocals, by whoever the woman is, on ligaya are how it should be. Not a full song, just a chorus, and sung beautifully.

By the way, I set up my sig on my mac, is it showing up on your pcs, or are the images replaced by an angelfire logo.

Its the last time I'll mention my sig, honest guv. Don't bar me again.

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Aug-23-2006 14:54:

it means you can't hot link or leech an image from angelfire's hosting service to an outside source like here on TA. means that angelfire is hosting the image so it'll only be visible on angelfire's site.

and i haven't popped a gouryella track on in a while but I don't remember ligaya having any vocals, more over any gouryella track for that matter. maybe i'm just not in the know...

There are instrumental and vocal versions of Ligaya.

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Aug-23-2006 14:59:

^^oh true lol - still foreign to me lol...never would imagine vocals in a gouryella track thats all =)

Posted by GrimReaper on Aug-23-2006 15:01:

Oh and Walhalla has vocal/instrumental mixes too, vocals by Rachel Spier.

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Aug-23-2006 15:04:

walhalla is my all time favorite gouryella track...without vocals, or maybe i never bothered giving anything with a vocal a listen?

actually, it's my all time favorite track outside of rank1-airwave.
