PVD Pluck sound!?

Ok!

So i didnt get any response on my latest question. So ill try again, cus i know that someone knows how to make the classic "pvd pluck"!

Comeon guys, please help me out here. I mostly use the v-station!

Thanks
C

I posted you a response. Check it out in the previous thread. It's the basics of a good pluck sound. There was a thread AWHILE back on pluck sounds from someone and that's where I got my information from. That warm character in the sound though is REALLY hard to obtain.

Posted by KilldaDJ on Aug-18-2006 14:31:

i always thought to make a warm pluck u would detune it or perhaps use a subtle chorus on it?

Posted by Lindo on Aug-18-2006 15:04:

Yeah detuning is pretty much needed to get that thick sound to it. Chorus adds the stereo width along with some more detuning when using the right rate.

You mean this kind of sound?

http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.p...3F4381E2FD20B10

This is how I made it:

- One saw osc.
- Filter at 45%
- Filter Envelope at 40%
- Short filter decay, About 30-40% (0 Sustain)
- Apply quite alot of compression to the sound to make it snappy.
- EQ
- Delay
- Reverb
- More compression to make the delay "duck".

You might also want to enable unison or add chorus. But I didn't need to do it.
If you use Reason I can send you the patch.

i tried to get that sound in v-station, but I think it isnt that pluck you want... My is little crappy (sample)
nice one Eldritch, maybe u can post your patch?
cheer m8s

Another way to make the sound more snappy is to make the filter decay convex by modulating the decay with the filter envelope in the mod matrix.

here's the pluck patch, based on the sample eldritch posted.

very nice and wide sound btw... thx Eldritch for sharing it

Posted by LENG on Aug-19-2006 11:20:

I must admit i really suck at recreating eldritch's sequence... so, I threw in a different track done in 20min (a rough one):

Type: Pluck
Synth: V-Station
Clip: [[ LINK REMOVED ]]

btw, hope you guys will enjoy the patch

Posted by Eldritch on Aug-19-2006 12:49:

Sure, feel free to use it.

Here's an updated version of the patch. It now has a detune rotary, And the synths have been doubled for a wider sound.

Posted by substorm on Aug-19-2006 13:48:

So i managed to recreate the sound on my v-station, and it sounds nice, but when it playes in my track, i feel its to "stiff", i feel that i whant it to be warmer, like the "ATB" pluck!?

Anyone knows what i mean and what i could do?

Cheers

Does this sound right?

SAMPLE!http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.p...00896B56D969347

Posted by substorm on Aug-20-2006 10:44:

I guess it sounded bad

Posted by Eldritch on Aug-20-2006 18:16:

Not at all, it's a good sound. But it doesn't sound quite like the typical A&B pluck. Why don't you just use Reason's subtractor synth (Or my combi patch :P )?
It's really good for creating those kind of sounds.
