tiesto with maxi jazz - dance for life

tiestos only good work since the In My memory days. anyone heard this yet?

Posted by Tangil on Aug-19-2006 02:34:

yeah I've heard it but it doesn't do much for me. Even though its cheesy and not produced that well i like 'He's a pirate' more.

I like it, it seems like a great track, but I wouldnt call it his best work but its still a good track.

Posted by Trance Nutter on Aug-19-2006 03:54:

It seems to have been cleaned up since he played it at Sensation, but I still don't think its anything to get overly excited about.

It has a nice groove. Those wood:ish stabs and maxi jazz gives it a very faithlessesque feel. The lead is a little too in your face, not really bad tho. The track feels like if done quickly and spontaneously, which is good.

where can i get to hear it ?

Posted by butterball on Aug-19-2006 06:45:

it sucks..synths are very cheesy and i love tiesto

I am waiting for the remixes. I think it could be a pretty good tune if someone works with it.

Same for me... Synths are cheesy
I'm waiting for the Sander Van Doorn Remix

But an excuse can be made: It wasn't the intention to create a full-on energetic trancer you know. Just a recognisable anthem for that "Dance4Life" organisation he's working for... A cheesy crowdpleaser, lol

The leading synths are horrible
I'm curious about the remixes though.

Looks like they tried to mimic some Sister Bliss synth-lead that worked well with Maxi's vocals on Faithless tracks... sadly it doesn't quite work here, but its for charity (supposedly an excuse why it can be half-finsihed).

The big word here is accessibility... this tune needed to be representing the charity cause, contain a message, and be so overblown (synth wise) that it becomes a hit.

Truely AWFUL tune imo. Doesnt do anything and the vocals dont suit the tune. One of Tiesto's worst productions i really mean that. Sounds thrown together at the last minute. Hes a Pirate at least sounds good in a live setting even if the melody goes all over the place a bit.

Are you serious>?

Posted by ORSTTranceAddic on Aug-19-2006 22:17:

it is ok... i was expecting better... hoping for some kick ass house and trance remixes!

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Aug-19-2006 23:22:

It sounds really massive up until the main melody, which is a substandard attempt to recreate that classic Faithless big hook sound.

Posted by RickyM on Aug-20-2006 00:37:

sample?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Aug-20-2006 00:39:

There was a sample in the last thread about the track, if you want to try your luck with the search.

listened again and i can agree here somewhat. but where I heard it was from the EM live at Global Gathering and I figure sound quality is a bit raw or the track is premature at this point. Didn't bother me the first time arround though. f-ing sick track.

thats the difference between tiesto making it and what would of happened if rollo made it
trying to recreate the faithless sound, which failed quite well

The basic idea is OK, I guess, but the track doesn't really go anywhere or do anything. I liked that distorted sweepy thing in the break but after that it just dies altogether.
