Review: Demi@This Is London

Fuckin Demi does it again. I really really hope this set was recorded cause there were some serious tunes he played last night. That little bit of tribal he dropped near the middle was retarded. So dark, dirty and groovey...mmmm

Posted by jpistone on Aug-19-2006 17:40:

Wicked Times!

Demi kept it slamtasticular with tunes all nite long!

Posted by TranceGrooves on Aug-19-2006 17:47:

the last 45 minutes was pure insanity. the whole night was fa kin su pah !!! Demi owned it

Posted by infinity HiGH on Aug-19-2006 17:48:

When did he finish? I left around 4.15, and the last 20 minutes seemed like he was slowly wrapping up.

wheres he from?

whats his storyy

Posted by _EuG_ on Aug-19-2006 18:02:

I decided to check out This is London for the first time, and Demi did not disappoint. I got to the club at 11:30 and the crowd didnt get good till about 1am... before it was jus people standing socializing on the dance floor.

Music was very sick, i did not expect tribal so I was pleasantly surprised.

When i got back to my car it was not there, it was towed. Not a good way to end a fun night.

Here is a photo of me from yesterday, so next time if any of u see me say Hi!!

really glad i went out last night, seeing as i almost just went to bed instead. it's too bad it took me this long to finally see demi, as he fucking rocked! both his and brad's sets were fantastic, and i heard "my song" from the SOS essential mix. hehe. great night, i needed that to restore my interest in going out.

SOOOOOO SWEET!

Demi kicked some major ASS at TIL last night - Excellent toons and a lot of music which I have not heard before (ABOUT TIME!!)

Quality convos with Highroller and Mary-Kate (have a safe trip babes - bring me back some sexy to flaunt!!)

Arrived with Maria from Nat & Graham's Ice Lounge Party (sorry for the whirlwind in and out) and met up with Kevin (FInary) - dude everytime I see you I want to have a serious chat with you and I never see you again (HAHA - but I definitely want you spinning for me at Beba in September!!)

I love TIL - the interaction with the DJ's - the crew that comes out and of course the MUSIC.

Amazingly beautiful people and eye candy galore all grinding to the beats and stomping it out on the floor!

Dan and Chris always love seeing your faces here - and throwing it down with fervour!

And meeting Demi at the end and commenting to him that everytime I was in the washroom - people were saying "DEMI IS KILLING IT - SO FREAKING HARD AND DIRTY - DEMI WTF - INSANE!!)...........he laughed and said sometimes I like to shock people........heck even sometimes make them leave the dancefloor by seeing what I can get away with!

Well if every DJ managed to do the PURPOSEFUL floor clearing damage - every event review thread would have a WIKKID WIKKID comment on track selection.

The 4:40 end time was sooooo not fair - the energy of those tunes felt like peak time at its best.

Thank you everyone for coming out last night - your continued support with this space has rewarded us with some of the best nights out in the city over the last 6+ months.

For those yet to go - make the treck out - most door issues - I can work out for ya - just get yourselves organized and come out and DANCE YOUR BUTTS off. And speaking of dancing your butts off -Donald Glaude (the peoples party DJ) next week will be for sure off the Hook!

DIRTY CLOWNS UNITE!!!

Did someone have to "step up to plate" or what?

Posted by infinity HiGH on Aug-20-2006 15:52:

Oh, a question for the wonderful people at This Is London; how exactly is a person able to get on a promotors guestlist for that night when the promotor doesn't even have a list for that particular night?

reading all the comments and reviews on friday night have been one of the few things good about how the rest of my weekend has gone - do u ever get that feeling that whatever you seem to try and do openly and honestly always seems to somehow backfire for some reason??? it's been one of those days

so reading all these comments and everyone's thoughts on the night has been a refreshing thing to read

i had an absolute blast the other night and its rare to be honest when I don't enjoy doing what I love most - been wanting to play THIS IS LONDON and like when I played at System last year, GET IT out of my system - having played and been dedicated to my residency at BOA before it changed to the now SONIC name, I wanted to explore and try out all the other venues in this city which has been so good to me and made me feel like it is a hom away from home

I've now been able to play at all the venues i wanted to - whether it has been BOA, SYSTEM, the guvernment main room/skybar, the drink and now THIS IS LONDON, each time has been special - admittedly I have also felt that some venues are more suited to what i do better than others and this is simply down to my own preferrential comforts that ultimately get the best out of me for all of you people

Was lovely seeing a lot of familiar faces who continue to support me in the city and always a pleasure meeting new people who have not had a chance to see me play before - one of the challenges I relish is when I continually come back to a city where I want to each time deliver something with impact and different each time - comments like these are what also continue to give me that drive to KEEP ON KEEP KEEPING ON

much love and I will be back before the end of the year - venue to be confirmed...
