So last night i'm driving at about 2am, and my girlfriend turns on ktu.. i usually never let her put on the radio but i didnt have my ipod.. and what is it i hear? TRANCE.. real trance.. not the bullshit iio - rapture that they've been calling the greatest thing since sliced bread.. songs that aren't 5+ years old, even though i have nothign wrong with rapture.. just you know..

anyway so the first thing i hear is that vocal song i cant remember its name .. "it was me in that room.. and you coudlnt hear me.. and i put the lights out.. you were no where near me.. and the flashlights and explosions.." i think those are the lyrics.. then i heard david guetta - in love with myself ( benny beanssi remix) and then came on oakenfold - sex n money.. iwas really enjoying this.. since when does ktu play normal music, and why do they do it so late at night?

I think the last time I heard KTU was when it was either they played Burned with Desire OR it was the time they were recording Oakey somewhere. They do tend to surprise their listeners once in a while with up-to-date music.

yea.. i was just driving around, had to drive a bunch of drunk kids home from my girlfriend's bday lol, all over brooklyn, and i was getting pretty bored/exhasuted.. and the radio wasnt on so loud and i heard a faint vocal.. i was like hey waht is that?! this is exactly what i need right now

werd ktu throws down some good stuff late nights once in a while
i was listening to roger sanchez's show on fri night/ sat morn
and it was pretty good he was spinnin alot of tracks he said he is droppin in ibiza
lots of great tribal stuff
and i caught oakies show like 3 weeks ago and it was pretty good but he dont spin like that in clubs i dunno very weird
the best is still like a month ago i was listenin to the riddler on a friday night and he goes
"heres the new track from my boy the number 1 dj in the world tiestoooooooo" lol and he dropped the pirates of the carabian song

You were listening to Liquid Todd and El Covinos new show Altered State it airs every Friday and Saturday from 1-3am. They moved over to KTU after Krock turned into a talk radio station. The first hour is Liquid Todd and hour 2 is a special guest mix.

Sometimes isnt good enough. Its still a poor excuse for a EDM station.

It's a pop station.

But... even if they did play the shit we dig on a regular basis, it would get even MORE hate because people would complain about little kids running around singing our shit. So, really, it's a lose-lose situation for most.

I, for one, enjoy driving home on a late-night and being able to put that on if I become bored with my CDs.

If they had even half way decent music I would listen to it and NOT hate that people are singing it. It may actually educate people what real good EDM music is. Right now being that the station is quite popular whenever someone mentions they listen to techno or trance people assume its some commercial KTU garbage. If I was bored of my CD's I would actually rather listen to silence than put that station on.

When I have tuned in to the radio (very rare) there is never anything good on so most days I dont even bother checking the radio for ANY station but I think I have enough CD's in my car to keep me going. (1) full CD book of 50 sets, and another 10-20 CD's right above my visor of just random tracks I arranged myself.
