Read This! Dj Tiesto as a Dj.........

I just Heard Dj Tiesto at dutch dimension 2002 and i was very dissapointed with it. The tracklisting wasnt so good. The mixing was no where near it used to be. Tiesto just dosent do it anymore. IMO Tiesto is # 2 right under PVD. Just listen to anyone of PVD'S set they are fuck'n unbelievable.

As a Producer, DJ Tiesto is one of the best there is. His new track "Lethal Industry" is amazing, but as a DJ i don't think he deserves the number 1 spot. I don't think PvD deserves it either, in actual fact I dont know who deserves it.. this year has seen some excellent and untouchable productions.. but it seems that no DJs are outshinning one another. Im seeing Tiesto live in a few hours.. maybe my point of view will change

Well every DJ has their off days...

whats else can i say

Posted by Scorchio on Mar-09-2002 08:38:

Tiesto is far over his climax...
Notice he gets Beats doubled and he is more busy with dancing than mixing.
Paul Van Dyk, What can I say, I admire him...
I think he should be the number 1 DJ without any contest
His Rosenmontags set speaks for itself and not to mention his superb latest CD "The Politics Of Dancing"

grtz,

Tiesto gets involved with the crowd loads. He is a good entertainer, which is essentially what a DJ is. so he is a great DJ IMO. The mixing is fine, of course u r gonna make a mistake every now and then.

As for mixing, well trance mixing isn't exactly rocket science!!

Posted by ascension on Mar-09-2002 11:18:

saw Tiesto spin a 3 hour set less than a week ago... the BEST trance Perth has seen for a long long time without a doubt

i guess when you're one of the best you'll always have people wanting to cut you down

tall poppy syndrome right?

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Mar-09-2002 11:20:

You guys just wanna debate these same things over and over and over and over (you get the idea) again...

TA has had a thousand threads arguing about every damn DJ around if he has lost it or IZ H3 @ G0D!!!!!!!!111111

C'mon guys... this is going nowhere... you're just going to have to agree to disagree...

Coz after all it IS all down to a matter of opinion.

Posted by burns on Mar-09-2002 12:01:

yes, we are all aware of that mate, but when some ***** calls tiesto overated ..etc.. You just have to express your opinion, which of course, people like you cant stand to see over and over again.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Mar-09-2002 12:06:

Hey, I can tolerate (nearly) anything.

Debate all you want, I just don't see the point in it...

Posted by Jah on Mar-09-2002 13:39:

my opinion is get fucked the man is fucking awsome

Posted by Hell_Copter on Mar-09-2002 13:48:

Tiesto is better than PVD at least for me.. don't falme me now
actually i like best Armin but Tiesto is one of my favourite producers and dj's
every dj got a bad day just like Tiesto had in Haoman at 4/1/2002
but still... u can't take all the credit u gave the man because of 2 lousy performances
he is great!!!!

Posted by nate735 on Mar-09-2002 15:00:

Dont get me wrong. Tiesto is an unbelievable producer. But for his mixing skills i don't know think he should number 1. It wasn't only dutch demension i heard that was bad, it was several. You listen to anyone of PVD'S sets and you will see what im talking about. I just think he dose it better as a dj. The tunes PVD plays on his sets are amazing. And the was he mixes it (words cant describe it) And yes i have seen booth of them live several times. I saw PVD @ space new years and DJ Tiesto @ exit a couple of weeks ago. So my opinion isnt based on bullshit. Its the truth

I know exactly what youy mean. His new cd "politics of dancing" is so great. The way he remixed most of the songs shows that hes not joking around. PVD is the bomb.

Dutch trancers nowadays are sissies, and by that I mean that they are afraid of surprising their audience with something new. That's why they keep playing the same-old same-old tracks over and over again, because they think that that's what the audience wants. They are failing to sound fresh and new. This wasn't so much the case with Dutch Dimension, but in general the tracks being played nowadays by Tiesto,AvB and Ferry Corsten and so on are overplayed and not very fresh to my ears. They should try to develop their sound a bit more, and leave the control over the records they play to themselves,NOT to the audience. But this might change in a while,at Dutch Dimension for instance,Tiesto started to play TECHNO,and AvB's radio show @ ID&T has many knew "unheard" tracks in their playlists. That's also the reason why I don't see the absence of Tiesto and the likes at Summer Sound System as a problem since they've got such a HUGE line-up already.

one thing to say... L M A O
You probably saw the DD vid and now you're saying he's too busy dancing around??? For once he dances when he's spinning and it's already too much??
Second, tracklisting wasn't so good??? L M A O again... He played about 90 tracks including different styles with peaks and slow moments, absolute thrills and chill-out moments.
To me Tisto is still one of the best dj"s out there and how good pvd is i don"t care

do you think that PVD is capable of making a nine hour solo set just as Tiesto did, do you think that when PVD does it he will mix every single track perfectly....??

The set was awsome, 9 hours of pure beauty, he builds it up to techno (the same old shit you say ) and then goes back to chill-music

btw: never state your opinion like the truth, like you did here....

makes me and people mad, makes it sound like there is no other alternative than Tiesto being a bad DJ (which he really isn't IMHO)
