Riva anonymity
I've heard that Riva are Ren ter Horst (DJ Zki) and Gaston Steenkist (Dobre). What I want to know is why would they want to remain so anonymous when their music is so good?? I could understand it if it was terrible!! I could understand it if they were some other big producer who wanted to try something different under a different name. Personally I had a sneaking feeling it was Armin van Buuren! Their identity is even concealed on their record label's website. Anyone got any ideas?
i love that whole mystery thing
tastexperience have it down pat
isnt dj manta behind riva
Yep. DJ Manta is apprently another alias for Dj Zki and Dobre.
something totally irrelevant... listening to riva - the sky is the limit and i LOVE this song!!!
sorry
^^^^^
after you said this i shoved it on ive had it for a while but havent given it a proepr listen its INCREDIBLE how catchy are thier riffs! they use that great build up kinda snare (dunno if thats the right word) which just made stringer AWSOME hahahahaha thats so cool you know the big build up then the whipping noises and then bamm pure euphoria
that rocks!!!!! *WHICHIHCIHC* WHICHICHCH* *WHICHICHCH*
sorry thats my poor attempt at that whipping noise
Riva is just Jon Riva, another great dutch producer
He's been on television here because of the song with Dannii... I've heard he also uses the name DJ Manta, but I'm not sure about that...
Really? I know that John Riva is written on the vinyl but I was told that the producers I mentioned before were Riva. Thanks for clearing it up anyway. I know you said that he appeared on Dutch TV but you don't by any chance happen to know why he keeps a low profile internationally? The Riva website on his record label uses phrases like 'he or she' so you don't even know whether he's male or female? What's going on?
The Sky is the limit is very good, but not as good as Stinger I dont think. Sometimes I think it almost sounds too like stinger but its still a gr8 song
Does any1 know of any remixes of it????? or any ones that have been planned? A nice remix could turn it into a classic i think
No, I don't know why he does that mysterious thing... maybe he just doesn't like publicity that much... Most likely United Recordings came up with the mysterious profile because Rive just didn't want to have such a profile... Sure United Recordings know who he is.
I think it's just a publicity stunt...
I do know that it's Jon Riva, without the h...
damn...y cant they all just use one FrEaKiN name so its all alot easier to kno whos who...LMAo...

Yep its for sure Jon Riva, had the pleasure of chatting to him the other night too, thing is we hardly talked about trance, we talked about a daytime dj on BBC1 Radio 1 called Chris Moyles . . .
Jon, if u read this, hiya mate and don't be shy, come chat again soon.

Yep, he was there in the chatroom of armin van buuren's In State of Trance radio show on ID&T radio. Also Ralphie B was there
Asked Jon in a pm if he would tell something about himself, but he didn't react
He did tell that he is currently busy with some remixes and that there will be a Riva album, however do not expect it soon...
