new to the trance scene

Hello everyone,
I am fairly new to the trance scene...i started listening to trance about a year ago and its been alot of fun. I'm even getting into the djing aspect of it...i evern bought myself some cdjs. But i do have a couple of problems that I was hopin you trance gurus can help me out with.

ONE problem is that my collection of music I own seems to be poor. I don't like most of the songs in my playlist. Altho i do like trance...i just dont know which songs to get w/o listening to them first. the cds i usually get will have one good track and the rest i wont like.

TWO my selection is very small because I don't know where to find new music....I am new to Chicago and I dont know of any good stores around here. Plus most store dont have a great selection and chances r that i wont find the tune I am lookin for

So...I was wondering where i can find new music
and
where can i listen to music before buying/downloading it.

Also are there any sites like tranceaddicts.com with free tracks to download for free?

Thanks

lol i felt like an idiot for writing seen insted of scene...thanks for pointing it out

di.fm has asot, gdjb and transitions onDemand for free for an entire week, play.fm has radio shows you can listen to for free after registering and radio 1 has recent music as well as the essential mixes...tons of places to hear new music. go nuts!

This is freakin' me out, wasn't this thread called rance scene and... ah whatever!

Hey D-res for the Alphaville track check out 'Interactive - Forever Young (Original '94 Radio Version)'

Interactive covered it but have the original on the CD as well

thanks but i was actually being sarcastic, and it was a different thread that apparently disappeared, perhaps because the thread starter didnt like that he was being ripped on. I was being sarcastic because he insisted he bought his tracks legally but he obviously just copied- pasted or typed out the names of the mp3s in his music folder because it was "Artist-Track(techno rmx)" or just the genre in parenthesis which obviously isnt included in legit purchases, but can be found EVERYWHERE on p2p networks.

go to forums under the tracks section for some tracklists...i suggest using the search option (even though it's not the greatest) and just exploring other parts of this site and the sites of djs

From 2002-2004 I probably spent half my income there. Loved that place...

Skip the TA search function. TA search doesn't seem to zero in on something buried in a gazillion page thread.

Better to use Google using the words tranceaddict + other key words. That how I find tracklists to livesets I've been getting from the Download Thread 1 & 2.

Btw, download threads are downright addictive.

Oh yeah, one other thing. TA gems aren't always in the main forums like music discussion. The download thread is in the Canada- Toronto & Southern Ontario forum. Community is everywhere on TA.

Happy hunting.
