I think they should recall the battery in the ipod mini - mine broke

wtf is going on with batteries these past couple of weeks. i smell fish.

Well, from what I can tell Sony Issued a bad series of batteries which want into Dell and apple laptops. Both companies have issued recalls in the last two weeks. I would imagine that anything with a sony battery, manufactured in the last three years might be prone to this issue of overheating.

then again, you might be refering to something else .

Anyone that buys anything Dell in the first place isn't exactly a smart consumer, sorry to all of you out there

Oh and Laura, what are you on about? Li-ions don't hold a memory. They're like cellphone batteries. Charge them often, very often. If possible don't go below 40% capacity. This will prolong the life to ridiculous ends, like my 5GB iPod from 2001, which is still going strong.

CHARGE YOUR LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES (IN CELLPHONES AND IPODS) OFTEN, ANYBODY THAT TELLS YOU THAT THEY HAVE A MEMORY EFFECT IS A STUPID LIAR Laura isn't a liar, that's just what Apple (liars) told her.

the new mac products are having a shit load of problems.
one of my girlfriends just got a new macbook and it turns out the fan's weren't turning on and she started smelling burning plastic.
turns out the temperature sensors weren't working.

i also remember the 17" powerbooks being messed up during their first gen.

anyway, lithium ion bat's should be charged as often as possible.
here's some more info on it.

If you're not sure about your Dell go here:
https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/

Run the Service Tag number and it'll tell you if you're effected or not.
