DJ's who whore their own productions and DJ's who don't

Hola hola...

So I've been wondering what DJ's are oftenly known as playing to death their own productions perhaps leading to their much quicker fade out and also whoring the tunes from their own labels.

And what about those DJ's who do exactly the opposite, mainly being DJ's instead of producers and focus on playing the best music around regardless of labels/friendships, etc etc.

Whore. And add Gabriel & Dresden, IMO the worst offenders, Armin (label, not himself), Steve Angello, Tiga, the Crystal Method, Sander van Doorn, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Richie Hawtin, Evil Nine, Sean Tyas, Blank & Jones,

DJs who don't - Lee Burridge, Sasha, Digweed, Zabiela, Damian Lazarus, Holden, Jon O'Bir, Carl Cox

I've tended to notice that the trance, breaks, and minimal techno group are the worst, which the progressive and house DJs aren't as bad, but do sprinkle their own productions if they have any.

Yeh true, but I rarely see the likes of Cattaneo whoring a production/remix of his own (not that he has many) but you get my point.

I understand though how some DJ's like to spin every now and then one of their fav productions because people are actually expecting them to as well... so we might be the ones to blame at times, does that make any sense at all?

Is this a serious question? I've heard him play Time of Our Lives and Nothing But You TWICE in the same set.

I was thinking that too... not the same producer though, but like it isn't always a bad thing to whore your productions when they're obviously the hottest stuff at the moment. Like for instance, this local dj played this weekend and I was expecting to death his newest production and he didn't drop it that nite I definitely left with some disappointing

Tiesto is the worst whore. He has sets where 70% of the tracklist are "his" productions.

All of them do it to some degree.

Yeh, I think you're right... I mean, it's not bad when all of their productions are awesome and whoring their own tunes can actually be accepted because we want to listen to the best music.

But when some dj's keep trying the same shitty tunes from their labels or their own productions just makes me sad at times... it's like they consciously (spell check lol) choose to play a shitty track of their own instead of another banging track just because it doesn't support their label.

I honestly can't blame Eric Prydz for whoring his material, his productions are gold, just gold... I haven't really listened to the others from the Sweden Mafia nor Rivera so I can't give an opinion.
