phone help : Samsung D807 OR Sony Ericsson W810i
so i'm fed up with Telus and I placed an order for the Samsung D807 from Rogers this morning, everything looked fine till I started reading reviews and checked out some stores...everyone seems to be telling me to get the Sony W810i for that price because its a much better phone...
anyway, Rogers said I have the options of switching the models so I need opinions.Their both great phones and both have pros and cons...but some advice from anyone who has one of these phones would be awesome.
I know 2 people with that Sony. Both are very satisfied. It's a good phone.

I have the W600i, and its very good. No complaints (except for the non expandable memory). ESP since I got an avi to 3gp converter Ive been watching movies on the subway, at work...lol.
The only thing I hate is SonyEricsson's universal idiot jack... Can't do two 'jack-operated' actions at the same time.
welcome to the world of GSM !
Samsung X820 or D900.

You aren't limited to buying the piece of shit phones that they have, and they are all pieces of shit compared to the stuff you can purchase. www.easycell.ca is my favourite for service and such. D900, $520: http://www.easycell.ca/ProductInfo....oductid=SAMS025 X820, $400 (and 6.9mm thin holy fuck!): http://www.easycell.ca/ProductInfo....oductid=SAMS001 |
You may want to look into the D820 then. I have one, and the slide mechanism is a magnet. It works fucking incredibly well, and all sliders should be this way. You can pick one up from Easycell for $420 now.

get the W810i from rogers for 2 bills then debrand it and get rid of all the rogers garbage thats on it. then it becomes one of the best phones out there for a decent price.
the k800 is awesome but is wayyy to expensive. if you're really interested in it, you can get it for about $550 at pac mall.
anyway, hope it helped!

im getting the w810 next month... i've had my phone for way too long now
3+years
i've realized after NOT buying a $400 cell phone, it was a good choice. All I do is just talk on it now and then, and other than text messaging, really dont use the other shit lol. Maybe I would for like 2 weeks, then thats it haha. Pretty thin phone, doesn't cost that much, i'm good lol
Like what if you lose your phone, or something happens that wrecks it? At least I can replace mine for $165 lol. Who really buys a cell because it can take pics, and expects to take actual good pics with it? no one, they just buy a digital camera. I can see you want it to take pics, because maybe theres some huge crash you can get a picture of, or drunken pictures, but still, its not worth the money.
I know I know, the cell phone is a toy, and its cool as shit some of the stuff it can do, and yeah yeah, if I was rich I would still buy the most expensive cell I could find, but knowing me, wreck it somehow lol.
I have the w800 and I have no complaints, except that it is triband.
Other then that no complaints.
I have the W810i, it's a great phone. However, if you plan on using it listen to MP3's, there is audible hiss and static noise, especially at lower volumes and break downs of tracks. Other Sony Ericsson Walkman phones do suffer from this same problem... there are third party fixes available, but not yet for the W810i. Hopefully soon!
Check out the Motorola A1200. It looks like an amazing phone. But it will cost you $600-700.

Don't get a boring ol' phone that anybody here can go and buy at any Rogers store.
