I was about to post about how much I wished the sweetwater brewery were in my town. Bonnaroo ruined me for other beers.

Was right next door to my old school. Good in theory, but the place STANK.

Also -

Even though the beer is made about 50ft from some of the pubs, the price of the beer in New York is cheaper than those pubs.

the one you hear about the most around here is called red oak:

as far as I can tell they dnt distribute bottles very widely, but you can get it at airports and stuff if you ever land in the state.

The hippies know their microbrews . I definitely used to love that aspect of going to Phish shows.

Ithaca Brewery in upstate New York is pretty good. They've expanded their range and I've even found it down in NYC a few times (4 hours away). They make Nut Brown, Apricot Wheat, and Pale Ale that I regularly drank in college, plus have a few seasonals. If you went to the actual brewery located right outside of town, you could take in a refillable Growler (64 oz. jug) and fill it for like $7.

We have two,

Coopers
Mainly do ales but now do a lager too.
Pretty good, extremely popular. The Pale Ale is the big one, they also do a Sparkling ale, Dark ale, Lager, Stout and a few others

Then theres West End, owned by Lion Nathan
More of a working class pitched beer, their big one is their Draught

Then we've got a few hundred wineries as well.
