Why do some many threads start like:

So I[...]

That's enerving + it sounds shitty.

so i came in this thread and realized that i do see plenty of those types of threads that start off like that.

but it doesn't annoy me though..

Because "so" is a word that denotes introduction to a topic/comment/sequence.

yeah, but there are so many other words that do exactly the same... thus some alternation would be fine...

There sure are, but are the other words shorter than "so"?

No.

Posted by AndreaCKY772 on Aug-26-2006 18:37:

how about

"basically..."
"to my surprise..."
"today was the day..."
"tonight was the night..."
"i will tell you..."
"let me give you some info on my day/night..."

(lame, lol...well most of them sem a bit cheesed...but probably humorous)

Posted by jdat on Aug-26-2006 18:38:

So I'm asking myself wtf are you gonna do about it?

^^ What's with the jumping cow?

I've no probs with people starting threads with and unfinished sentence, wheather the thread is going to be good or not.

I like a bit of suspense in things.

erm...nothing!?

I just ask why people use this outworn phrase. Imho I find it boring.
