People Who Have Legal Ableton!

I have a legal live 5, and i wanted to install it on my laptop.

When you have to unlock the key, i chose unlock online, and a message came out saying that i exceeded the unlock limit and that i have to contact the support staff and send them my serial number too.

i sent them an email with all the necessery information, and i was just wondering if anyone had an issue like this before and could tell what the ableton staff does to solve this problem.

i sent it to them today, im hoping to get an answer today cus i have to run ableton tonight

anyone know if the answer posts on saturdays?

that thought occured to me too, but then again all my mates just download it and install the cracked version, i dont know - i wouldnt ask a friend of mine who has lets say a legal reaktor 5 to come over to my place and to install it on my computer. Id get the crackes instead or if i really want a legal one, than ill buy it...

I think some people are forgetting the reason prices are so high on software is because of the money the companies loose/spend because of people always just stealing it.
This is one of the only fair cases i believe.

i think if you like a software and use it alot, then you should buy it (if you can ofcourse). as for the dongled stuff, everything can a will get cracked

very true... there will always be a way around locks. As a software developer, you are in a race against a lot of people who are generally pretty well educated who will reverse engineer and disassemble your products.

The only company I can think of that legitimately can protect themselves is Microsoft, because if your cdkey isn't on the whitelist, you can't get security patches. But if windows was worth a damn in the first place, you wouldn't need bugfixes because it wouldn't have had them.

and a lot of ppl steal because they get pissed off and feel like they're getting ripped because of reasons like the ones in this thread.

there is no reason for a peice of software to be $1000...that's ridiculous...
