Calling all CD-J200 Owners

So im thinking of purchasing a CD-J200 to go with my Numark DXM06 i just purchased earlier this week. Anyone know if the CD-j200's are solid bang for buck?

Posted by Glassball on Aug-27-2006 07:49:

If the most you're willing to spend is $330 and you don't scratch, then they're your best bet.

Posted by Fl@k Monkey on Aug-27-2006 08:54:

i think we're thinking on different lines here (my fault for lack of detail). But i meant the Pioneer CDJ200's like in this pic

http://media.zzounds.com/media/bran...7cae1c8b27a.jpg

According to decks.co.uk, They're actually selling better then CDJ1000's

Posted by T-Soma on Aug-27-2006 09:08:

I dont see how hes thinking of something else.
You cant scratch with cdj200s.
If you dont scratch and dont mind not having vinyl mode then go for them for sure.

Sorry, i meant my response to this bit:

These decks are $999 each, Retail. And seeing as they're selling over the 1000's they cant be to bad. So iv gone ahead and ordered one as new from Cannon Sound & Light off ebay for $700 AUS.

Not a scratch dj, House/Trance all the way
Anyways, Items are ordered and on the way

He's in America. Hence the different prices.

Seeing you've never had TT's, I'd say they'd be perfect for you.

Who said i never had turntables? :P

Moving up in this digital world to CDJ's & Ableton Live like most other djs seem to be. Thanks for everyones response. I'm just awaiting the arrivals now.

Posted by Trance Nutter on Aug-27-2006 12:14:

judging by the fact you als bought an entry level mixer I assumed you were starting out.

Posted by Fl@k Monkey on Aug-27-2006 12:21:

Techically speaking i am. I had Stanton str860's for quite a few months. Brought them in England when i was with my ex fiance (the person i was meant to be living with for the rest of my life). And well.. When things went soggy and i had to go home I couldnt afford to bring my turntables with me. So they got sold on Ebay .. Sad day.

With the sale though, i got money. Some of which i apparently owed my ex fiances mum.. So in all i was pretty much beaten while down. Thanks to the good people at Centrelink iv reached just enough to skim myself back into Djing with some 'decent' gear.

Eh, overall id say things worked out alright for me. Iv now got gear coming and a new woman in my life. Party On

Yea, if you are a retard, you'd pay that much... Glassball DID pay $330 for his... and I paid a bit more for mine.. but no where NEAR $1000/each...

Believe it or not things cost different in other parts of the world

WTF is your problem your problem asshole?... I am quite aware of his location.. But thanks for coming out..

... The price would still be $840/each CDN ($760USD) when converted... Like I said, you'd have to be a retard to pay that much for CDJ 200's.

You are quite aware of his location...........

Believe it or not, things cost differently in different parts of the world. go find an AUSTRALIAN website or store with them at that price and I'll believe you. Until then I'll believe the ~$800 prie tag I've seen in stores here.

Here, Derringers is one of the cheapest stores anywhere in Aus. The Pio is about 3/4 way down

I converted to give you an idea of what they would have to cost in CDN and USD to even be close to the $999.

I'm wasn't talking about the $800 price tag you have seen with your beattie little eyes.. My original post was regarding the fuckin retarded Australian price of $999.99, if you don't like it, Blow Me!!

You could order them from the states (or canada) at a cheap ass price, plus shipping & duties, and I bet it would still be less. That is the point I was trying to make in a VERY blunt fashion.

/done!

Posted by Trance Nutter on Aug-28-2006 02:02:

(yeah, I realised why you converted it that way so i deleted that bit, my mistake)

Yup, but the rrp is 999 in Aus, the cheapest I have seen is ~800 (779 at Derringers), you'll find every store sells for somewhere in between. Its a matter of shopping around which people do anyway.

Importing won't be cheaper by that much, and then you have issues with power conversion (dunno if these have an internal switch or not), warranty issues, shipping damage, and also generally people like to make bigger purchases close by.

We get ripped off here in Aus, no doubt about it.

No need for name calling mate.

EDIT: I'm sure you had to notice some sarcasm in my orignal "Retard" post...

yeah I know, I was just coming back to post that I'm in a bad mood and that i was shooting my mouth off without thinking. My apologies.

(however you did callhim a retard first )

Posted by tubby on Aug-28-2006 02:31:

what sort of idiot thinks you can just adjust for currency and prices will then be identical anywhere in the world?

Posted by Fl@k Monkey on Aug-28-2006 02:31:

Er, well first i want to say i did actually kind of find your original post, Stating i had to be a retard pretty offensive and uncalled for. And could have been worded a bit better.

And thanks to trance nutter for standing in for me while i was out watching the box, awaiting delivery of the mixer which is sheduled to arrive later on today.

Concerning the actual price arguement. I didnt actually pay $999
I said:

Considering thats Australia brew, from a store i know is good, and includes shipping and insurance costs. I think $700 is worth paying. I always believe you get what you pay for. And there was no other cdj's attracting my attention.

I have stated earlier that i AM indeed new to CDJ's, coming from turntables.. so in all honestly, I have nfi whats good and whats not. Hence why i asked around and alot of people have given me the thumbs up on CDJ200's, And i swear iv seen these puppies being used in some clubs from international Djs.

I like the TA forums, i didnt come here to be called names or argue about dumb little matters. If i wanted to do that i would have stayed back in earlier forums i was apart of.
