Windows XP???
Does anyone have it? Is it any good?
Also i have a copy of it and im wondering how does the Product Activation protection work? For those of you who have it, do you have to register your CD with Microsoft? For those of you who have copied versions, do you know if Microsoft tracks you and whatnot? I have a windows xp pro version and im not sure if i should install it.
i have windows xp, iv had it for a while now
and it has NEVER crashed once on me
its a very very stable O/S
i love it
it can be tweaked alot, and cracked, so u dont need to register it
and yes microsoft can see what your doing, but they can NEVER take you to court or anything, if they see you doing anything illegal, cause its illegal for them to do so, no'one has the right to be looking in on someone elses computer, microsoft only use this feature for statistics on stuff. and for marketing and shit
its nothing to worry about
asd
win2ooo > all o/s from microsoft.
no crashes at all and no "ms watching you"
Well if you have Xp antispy then no Ms watching you...
I'v e had it for like 2 months now and it's stable as f*ck!
i feel stupid to say this, but my win98se hasn't crashed in like 3 weeks... hmmmm.... something's going on...
I am very impressed with xp, it has never crashed (touch wood) and it running really well. The only bad thing is the fact that if you put on new hardware you have to reinstal xp, which is a bitch

Well not the pci slots i dont think, but i changed the processor, it was set as 1.1ghz, when it should be 1.4ghz, just change the jumper on the motherboard, and then the blue screen comes up, and you have to reinstal, crap i know
MS watching you...? thats just a little creepy
I tried doing the upgrade, but ill have do a clean install because my video drivers are old.

ya, it hasn't crashed, but it's slow as fucking hell, i need to reboot
My Windows XP is the "Corporate" Edition. I didn't have to call MS up for anything, like I've heard for the Home users. Is all I had to do is enter a "serial" number or whatever the number was (25 characters long) and THAT'S IT! Mine's a copied version but, what the heck, it's not like I'm the ONLY one around that does this. XP hardly EVER crashes but, I NEED to get more RAM (I have ONLY 128 MB, which is the MINIMUM required to run XP) because Winamp runs SLOW and freezes A LOT when I'm searching through an MP3 (holding down the "right" or "left" arrow keys). When THAT happens, I have to do the famous Control+ALT+Delete move and end the programme and then just load Winamp back up!

| Originally posted by TiestoInTheMix personally, i'd never install xp, no matter how many people say it's awesome (and i know a lot that do). if anything, i have mandrake 7.2 and slackware 8.0 (i think) ready, so... the only reason i'm using win98se is because my usb hdd doesn't work under linux YET--> the driver is almost ready, though, so in near future micro$osft will lose another 'customer', not that i ever bought anything from them. |
Im running win 98 and it only crashes on me 3 times a day if i pray to the motherboard, 8 times if i have been a bad boy though. good shit!

| Originally posted by Dmatrox I used to run mandrake on one of my boxes. It was a pretty good flavor of linux, but much like all linux's it lacks compatibility in game play. I need help: I have an Nvidia 32meg Geforce 2 mx100, and when i run diagnostics for XP compatibility, it said: ------------------------------------------------- Blocking Issues (return to top) Conflicting Devices Setup has detected an incompatibility between your video card & computer's mainboard. Because of this, your computer may not start up after the upgrade. Contact the manufacturer of your hardware for technical assistance. ------------------------------------------- |
