I don't know what to think about this.
Should have been someone else....
Kinda
tracklist. I guess those PvD and AvB tracks could work.
yeah too many deep dish GU's these days...
Must admit, begs a bit of "who can we get now....oh, nobody available, let's try someone who we know love milking it off GU...deep dish!...oh dubfire doesn't want part of it...". Still, it should be a good mix.
Hardly pushing the frontiers of the underground dance scene though.
If one exists these days?
To be honest, it's getting quite boring that Deep Dish/Nick Warren are making every other GU comp. And if that tracklist is official there's no way I'm buying this with all those PvdBuuren tracks...

The TL could be worse, it could consist of his own half-assed productions. Gross.
Bah, another GU I wont buy. But with lots of other good mix series out there (Balance, Sci.fi.hi.fi) I couldnt care less.
Im gonna go listen to GU 27.
Yeah don't know what's going on with the PVD and Armin tunes. Wasn't 'Otherside' released early 2005?? The t/l is from recordstore.co.uk website, and they're official GU distributors, so I'm assuming it's correct.
Agree with you RJT, me and a mate were only this weekend having a discussion who we wanted to do a new GU. Personally, I'd like someone like Loco Dice...bit different.
I know Jimmy Van M is doing the new Balance, but he'd also have been high up on the list of choices I'd have for another GU... Other names that come to mind:
Nathan Fake
Gui Boratto (I know, pipe dream at the moment, but his style totally fits the GU vibe)
Hernan Cattaneo
Let Cattaneo do his job with Renaissance.
My suggestion is Tom Middleton.

Problem with the GU's, they used to be the only source for a mix cd that wasn't cheese/commercial dance stuff. Now there's so many more options and so many more djs I think it's just hard for them to keep up. Plus alot of djs that used to do GU's now have their own compliations or have just done a compliation for another cd. Sander has his own, Digweed now has his own, Sasha does Fundacion, Hernan and Seaman do alot of the Renaissance stuff and alot of fresh, newer djs go for the compliations that are a little newer (i.e. Balance). So it begs the question, how much longer will Global Underground be around?

Boo... I think this might signal the downfall of GU, which is very sad. They nearly died cos of bad management a few years ago, but with stupid choices like this they've completely ignored all of their fans on the GU boards and elsewhere.
Talking of the GU boards, the mods on there are the worst I've ever encountered, they like to gang up with their buddies on noobs and get them banned forever. Way to keep your numbers up, ha, ha. Great business sense! Yup, you guessed it, I'm banned.

I think TL looks awesome
Should be a good one!
Deep Dish is no longer interested in pushing musical boundaries so I don't expect much from this cd. Their music is more mainstream and that's fine in general but not for a series that's been known to being catering towards new music ideals. GU 27 Miami from Howells was a prime example of what a dj should do when asked to put together a compilation for the series rather than putting on mainstream Paul Van Dyk tracks that came out a year and a half ago at least...garbage..
I'd love to hear someone like Lee Burridge, Mark Farina, Desyn Masiello, Luke Fair do a GU soon.
