-- .cue files in Nero ?

Unhappy .cue files in Nero ?

Hey all

I'm trying to burn the Pendulum Essential Mix to listen to in my car but everytime I load the .cue file into Nero so I can separate the tracks my Nero locks up (it locked up for 20 minutes this morning, with the Hard Drive actually doing something, the program didnt crash...) - any idea why it takes so long for Nero to load .cue files? I had cut the .cue file down so it showed only up to 70 minutes...the cue file refers to the mp3 file and has "MP3" after it and not "WAV".

Any solutions on this? I've never understood why Nero takes as long as it does...

Cheers for yer help! How good is this Pendulum E-Mix btw? oh lordy!!!!!

Regards

Simon

i have no idea mate, everytime i've loaded a .cue file in nero, it has taken a long time, but usually it works.

Yeah I know from memory its taken a while but it was still doing it after 20 minutes this morning! lol....had to give up in the end :-(

Nero is a bitch with mp3's & cues, you'd better render it to wav first.

Aha, so .wav works a lot better? any suggestions of another burning program that can handle .cue's sufficiently? I guess thats why it took so long, maybe Nero was actually creating a temporary .wav file? considering the pendulum mix is 120 minutes long that might be why my hard drive light was going mucking fental ;-)

It'll still be shit quality. You lose alot of information when compressing to mp3. Converting it to .wav will just give you a shitty sounding song in a big ass file.

I have been taught the right way, and skip a while step by downloading nothing less than FLAC.

Er... yes, I know. What does that have to do with the issue at hand, though? It's already an mp3 so you can't magically make it wav quality again.

well personally id cut the 2 hour long mix into halfs

then use mp3cue or something to splice up the individual tracks or at least chop them into 8-10 tracks per half then burn them over 2 cds

its a bit of work but at least u know what ur getting

This exact same thing happened to me with Nero.

Try using CDRWin instead. If you have an odd model of burner that is not supported by CDRWin, then use MusiCutter to extract the individual tracks from the big MP3 based on the .cue, then burn.

burning an MP3 mix thru a CUE in Nero is useless. I've had the same problem as you, and for a while what I did was cut the tracks in the mix using a CUE Cutter and then creating an audio CD in Nero with the files.

I got tired of doing that everytime, so I looked for an alternative and came across a program called CDRWin by Goldenhawk Technologies. Works really quick with CUE files.

Happy burning

edit: didnt read magnus' post
