Caffeine

Just wondering if I'm weird...

I've never felt any energy boost/wakefulness as a result of caffeine. Anyone else like me?

P.S. Please don't malign my gentle thread miss Jennie Pie

drink coffee alot, over-rated imo, redbull + vodka does the trick

I don't drink caffeinated (Sp?) drinks.

Poland spring tells me to drink water.

I've felt it a couple of times, after drinking way too much coffee.

eat half a box of NoDoz and wash it down with a jug of Sangria and tell me if you feel anything then.

Would you be offended if I placed you in a bathtub, fed you some No Doz and did 3 loads of laundry?

It's a good day in comedy when you can rehash bad epilepsy jokes you learnt when you were Ten

Yes, sometimes I have the same effect... even after lunch at work I have a cup of coffee thinking I'm gaining more energy and 10 minutes later I'm closing the door of my office just to sleep some 30 minutes, a huge wtf.

However, at the club I only take RedBull and water and I find myself with lots of energy... it might be just placebo though, who knows.

generally doesn't do much if you drink it all the time. But drinking a dark coffee when you need a boost seldomly can do wonders, though it'll make you jittery

What are you talking about ?

*points at avtar*

Drink hot freshly brewed black coffee and you will notice the effect of caffeine.

Otherwise, on a sleepy morning try a couple of quick espresso shots and feel the surge of alertness grow on you as a result.

Jolt Cola anyone!!!! Used to do the trick, but I haven't had it in years!!!

It beats me how redbull + vodka can do the trick. Caffiene is a stimulant. It increases your alertness whereas alcohol is a depressant, it will put you to sleep.

Funny thing is, it may initially give you more energy, but then you crash....I was working at Bed, Bath & Beyond the first part of my senior year. I would work till like 12:00 on a school night, and it was pretty pathetic...falling back in school and all. One day I decided to drink a grande white-chocolate mocha before work, and then during my break drink a red bull. Let me tell you..I was quite energized. But when 11:00 came, and I was pulling a cart of stock out from the back...I passed out. That is what all of that caffeine can do to you..and it's not fun.

And I don't get the Redbull + Vodka thing, one is a stimulant (caffeine in RedBull) and the other a depressant (alcohol in Vodka) wouldn't that really screw with your body? I mean it's telling your body to do two things at once...I would think if you would do that often enough...you could have some serious problems...even death. Just my thoughts..i've never tried it, but I kind of doubt I would.

Haha I just noticed Omega_M mentioned it on the above post..oops, but anyways I elaborated.

However, let's not forget the first rush of alcohol actually stimulates you, it has been proven before or so I've been told, that's why it might do the trick. If you go overboard with the alcohol of course you'll end up sleeping.

Actually I do, first few drinks actually stimulate me... I become sharper, then when that stage is over and I keep drinking I do get sleepy and that's when I take a Redbull to keep me alive.
