I now know Ill make it as a musician!

im very happy at the moment. i finish university, and am unemployed. living at home with parents after moving out of my student house...

anyways i got one thing to be happy about.. i have the best working environment for creating smash hit trancers...........

oh wait, i was wrong. maybe someone can post a pic of their studio that is actually worse? i doubt it.

im close to suicide! lol

I know some guys who have a kickass studio, and make crappy tracks. And then you have some guys like Maor Levi who made some great stuff for several years while he had a crappy setup like yours

I have to agree though - it must be hard to make music with only one speaker

Just clean up the god damn mess! :P

Posted by Lindo on Aug-31-2006 16:40:

Rich, that setup isn't THAT bad. You should clean up some of that mess though lol. If you think of your desk more like your studio, then you might treat it totally differently and keep it all nice and tidy. Who really cares though...just like static said, it doesn't really matter about the studio setup, it's about what you produce from it. Good luck though, your tracks sound pretty good anyways. Only thing I want to comment on about your tracks though is you could use some upbeatness in your percussions. Don't ask why I'm posting this long ass response. I'm just blazing over here

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Aug-31-2006 17:15:

Not quite as messy as yours:

Posted by sterilis on Aug-31-2006 17:25:

i cant put a picture of mine up as there is a synth on one side of the room, three speakers beside my computer at the other corner, another speaker beside my turntables at the other side of the room and one turntable cannot be used due to the cdj occupying a seat on top of it.

so its not that bad rich. we all have these situations. im in the process of trying to rectify my problem though.

lol... looking at that photo i can imagine a heroin junkie sat there administering himself...

the beer bottle is for good luck!

the situation as you describe it, isn't really the best for the creativity...trust me...I just finished school and live with my mom...about three months now...did'nt do anything solid for loooooooong

Posted by Subtle on Aug-31-2006 23:39:

LOL

Posted by zodiac9 on Sep-01-2006 01:37:

hhhmmm richg101, I think you win the prize. Going to be hard for anyone to top that.

Subtle, if you'd remove the cigg packs and other various filth, you'd have a fairly decent workspace.

Nice reality show guys. Nothing more entertaining than self destructive, slovingly behavior. I was going to post a pic of my workspace, but I realize now mine isn't half bad. Gee, I feel better now.

subtle - thanks for trying to make me feel better... i still think mine is worse! - yours looks like a nicotine gone wrong advert.. mine, a set from trainspotting 'the musical'.

Nice! Haven`t really tried that one, but the Fersken IsTe (Peach Ice Tea) is awesome. Gotta try that one sometime then

Hehe, thats what i call a perfect stereo triangle...

Posted by S-Tune on Sep-01-2006 22:39:

btw, thats my studio...

that big thing in the mid:
my good ol rom-sampler with card feed

on the left:
wet percussion (great for ambient stuff)

and on the right my pride and joy:
a Siemens analogue synthesizer with its unique microwave synthesis and full USB 2.0 connection

You see, with a kickass studio you can still make crappy tracks!

Posted by wizniz on Sep-02-2006 05:19:

i use computer speakers... $100 for the 5.1 setup

got a keyboard i dont know how to use for midi control other than recording notes

...k guess mine is still nicer.

Oh man, every time I think my workspace is awful someone comes along and proves me wrong with something even worse

Though I usually clean it up for pics, it's never this clean normally:
