Anybody live in Wales??

Hey all,
If anyone has seen some of my posts on here before, I live in Edmonton, Canada. However, I am moving to Cardiff for law school in 3 weeks. Sooooooo I'm just wondering if there are any fellow tranceaddicts out there?? I have a lot of friends around the UK, but none in Wales so it would be cool to know some ppl out there before I move halfway around the world by myself. Not saying that we would have to hang out or even meet, but just to have somebody that I could chat occasionally to would be nice. Thanks very much

Cheers,
Terry

Hey CraveTheRave,

Wow coming all the way from Canada to Wales is gonna be a huge change in your life!

Anyways, I'm a TA member and I live just outside Cardiff, down near Swansea... I welcome you to the most wonderful part of the UK!, cardiff has a good nightclub called Evolution,

I personally go to Escape down in swansea, they seem to get big DJ's down there, saw Matt Darey there a couple of weeks back.

Anyways Get in touch man!

Hi so you are going to Cardiff University then?
I live in Cardiff and once went to university there. Trance is non existant in Cardiff and mainly the nights are house/breaks/drum and bass. The nights you would be looking at going to would be Timeflies and Journey. Can give you loads of information on them.

Your best bet is to attend the freshers fayre in the first week of freshers fortnight. There should be a traffic dance society stall which is the dance music society set up by students. check this link:

www.traffic-cardiff.co.uk

The clubs in Cardiff aren't that great and mainly cater to hard dance but timeflies usually has some trance and journeys even tho the venue is rubbish is a full on trance night. Cool House and Lamerica tho hav top house djs playing each month. Recently Desyn Masiello, Layo & Bushwacka, and Erol Alkan. In October there will be usually big one offs in the Great Hall (part of the Students Union). Off the top of my head Cool House, Sumo and Bass Invaders are doind specials in Oct. If you want more info PM me.

With Cardiff being only 2 hours away from London by train it ain't much of a mission to go to London. Birmingham (for Godskitchen) is about the same distance. Swansea (1 hour from cardiff) is home of Escape but recently has become more house orientated. Still play trance there tho check the listings.

Enjoy your time in Cardiff. I expect you will be in Talybont for ya first year. And remember the best nights are not always the most well known!

Hey there, I'm moving to Wales myself in a couple of weeks. Either to Cardiff to start my legal career \o/ or back to Swansea to further my illustrious career pulling pints /o\. Only been out in Cardiff a few times, just round the bars and stuff, seems like a good night out there

If you're living in Wales, you simply MUST visit Escape, it's like a trance addicts wet dream! Great line ups, a friendly atmosphere and an awesome crowd.

www.sumohq.com - sumo Cardiff's breaks night
www.cool-house.co.uk - Cool House Cardiff's main house night.
www.escapegroup.com - Escape in Swansea

Well I'm about to board my plane to go to Heathrow and then coach to Cardiff. Thanks to everyone for all your help. I'm very nervous, scared, excited and sad right now. Hopefully I'll meet some of you from here sometime.

Cheers,
Terry

Hello all,
Just wanted to say hi from Cardiff. Very lovely here, having fun so far. You are all right though, trance and house cease to exist... everyone's into bands and such. WHERE ARE MY ELECTRONIC LOVERS?!?!?!?! I want to go to the Sandy Rivera show in a couple weeks, but highly doubt I can find anyone... *sigh* Guess all I have to look forward to is the GK 4th bday

Cheers,
Terry
