that tracklist doesn't even look that great

Posted by Ted Promo on Sep-02-2006 13:53:

The Armin tracklist once again looks like ASOT entirely with some of the same tracks he was playing back in June. The Markus tracklist doesn't look that good either (does he play his version of Air For Life every live show he does )

To each their own, but those seem like some fairly weak sets

well, i got there fairly early also. around 10:30-ish or 11:00. I will not make an issue of the under 21'ers, I will not. Seasunz played a good warm up set. I fucking love Never Alone. Can't believe he played that. I have video so I'll put it up. As for Armin, unfortunately I only saw his opening. I soon left upstairs to some crazy fucking tunes!!! It was like hard trance mixed with happy hardcore lol, but man was it banging!!! Then Eric came on and fucking blew it open! Such a shame he got only like an hour omg! I left around 4 or 5 i think. Great night. What a treat to see the Groovester behind the decks at Space. Congrats Eric! DA! Great you could make it out! Great seeing th lot of you guys ther also.

With crap tracks like this^, it sure DOES speak for itself.

I wasn't impressed with Armin's set at all. I barely even made it into Space, to say the least, but thanks to my nephew and Sergio I was able to get in. I was there mainly for Eric. Lots of TAs to say the least, but goddamn was that mainroom ever packed with kids. Much worse this time around. I missed Seasunz' set as well as Markus'. The DJ who played after Eric played some remix of Delerium - Silence which wasn't too bad. The night just went by a little too quickly during Eric's set and it went by just a little too slowly during Armin's set. And that's my review. Many congrats to Eric for a job well done, we defintely hope he gets booked again. Really awesome hanging with Seasunz for a bit and seeing everyone supporting Eric in the loft.

Review ends.

Spacemasters, may you and your Armin both burn in hell.

DA

Oh yeah, and Spacemasters, you should edit the thread title to "Armin, Markus & Groove Eric @ Space." It's not everyday one of FLTA's very own gets to play at Space, ya know.

Here are the few pics I took last night.

1 Main room shot.

Groove Eric behind the Space Loft decks.

Crowd shot of the loft.

FLTAs showing support for Eric in the loft.

Eric & Seasunz.

End of pics.

HappyHappy

my highlight was: Thomas Bronzwaer - close horizon(PVD remix), this track is nothing at all like the version in TOPD2...this one is more energetic, nice build up, great crowd reaction...the crowd also loved that new cosmic gate tune and basically anything by sander van doorn...at one point the music stopped cause of a faulty vinyl/cd but that was my only complain, good set by van buuren

Posted by LiquidX on Sep-02-2006 17:30:

Hey guys,

I thought that Armin's set was way better then last time he was at space, more energetic tracks and not that much of a drag to get to the middle, decent tracks in the set and some great ones too. I can say I enjoyed this one better then last.. but still not better then the first time so this would be the second to best to the times Ive seen him.

The crowd, ffs. It makes you think if its really worth the hastle sometimes. I know we were in for a good one with Eric and Markus for sure, but all those kids and the way it was packed it just came to a point where you just didnt want to move.. and everyone seemed to be looking for a fight too wtf.

Markus set was good.. great tracks but I have to say that there a couple that must be retired already heh.. all around good set but it just seemed so short!!.. I must say that he's last appearance was way better though.

As for Eric, maaaaaan you had that place jumping!! Hearing that new remix of tomorrow was great bro, great great set Eric congratss!!!!!!!!

Anyways.. Raul it was great to see that you made it out regardless. Great to see everyone, each and everyone one of you. Until next time .. Rank1 ?

Chao !

OMFG!! Enough Said: It was Great seeing everyone at Space !!

Posted by DrewStylz on Sep-02-2006 18:14:

Armin was ok. Like I said in another thread, too much of this electro housey stuff. I dunno. I was exhausted, and it was way too crowded. What time did Markus come on? I saw Armin back in Atlanta June 28th. He was much better then.

Posted by SPACEMASTERS on Sep-02-2006 18:20:

It sucks you guys though that of Armin show. I didnt think it was that bad like the begining of his July set. Well I guess to each there own. Only moments I didnt like were when "Venus" was cut short. And the last track he played that I have no idea what its called, but I hated it. I dont like 18+ over night, gosh there horrible.. I have so much fun when its 21+. The crowd is so completly different. Sucks I missed Erics set. I had no idea when he came on.

awsome pics DA!!!!!! didnt make cause maribel has lasik sugery on Fri.

the room where eric was spinning looks packed, im sure groove freekin wrecked the place!!!!!

Posted by ambs on Sep-02-2006 18:50:

i thought armin was a hundred times better than last time. It was an energetic set and I felt really happy being surrounded by some of the ta's i've grown to love The kids made me want to kill myself, as did seasunz' set. WTF was that? ugh terrrrrible! even worse than last time, and I didn't think that was possible. All I have to say is: KELLY OSBOURNE????????? next time they better book Eric to open

Eric's set was great so energetic! Grooveric for president! If you were there, you understand hehehe! good times all around and lots of ta's out to support. It was obvious that many people came just to see Eric, as after his set, many familiar faces disappeared too Props to a great first set at space, and I hope there will be many more!

Markus this time didn't really do it for me I was tired, the crowd was weird and his set was kind of slow for me I couldn't get into it at all, at that point I just wanted to go home and sleep. I think I'm getting old. I know next time Markus will bring it again because I don't think a lot of people know Miami the way he does

I got home around 8 and I passed out. I'm still in bed now hehehe.

The hilight of my night was when Armin dropped Way Out West-Mindcircus (G&D remix)! I thought I was going to cry haha! I've always wanted to hear Armin drop this one live as it's one of my all time favorites. I made sure to thank him a million times after his set too hehe

Thanks to everyone who contributed to making this night a good night for me

I just moved to Miami from Houston to attend UM and this was my first Miami trance event. I think Space is definitely a great club in terms of sound system and layout, but last night the crowd was messed up. I guess I don't really know how it is here at 18+ events, but in Houston, it's totally different. 18+ events aren't complete sausage fests like Space was last night, so that was pretty unfortunate. People also don't act like dumbasses like last night too. It'd definitely be cool to see a different crowd at a club, but as a freshman who doesn't always like having to use his id, I appreciate 18+ events.

As for Armin, he was a bit dissapointing. I've only seen him once before in Houston, and the way he played was totally different. Even though his set was really energetic, it wasn't very different from his ASOT stuff and sounded a bit rehearsed. Not to say that rehearsed is bad, but I would think that in a city as important as Miami, a DJ would be up for playing either new music, or maybe playing some more interesting stuff. In Houston, it seemed like he tried more to innovate and play stuff that not everyone knew.

I don't realy like house that much, but I thought seasunz was pretty good towards the end of his set. At least he, unlike Armin, played different, somewhat offbeat tracks.

I didn't stay for MS, but definitely wish I would have.

Anyway, hope to see some people next time.

Take it easy

I would have liked to hear groovE, but i had work today.

Posted by DSmalls on Sep-02-2006 19:38:

I'm sure he could play all new stuff... but it's probably hard to find 3hrs of brand new music every week that's halfway decent, especially when you run ASOT. I don't care for armin either, but you people are harsh. However, the cd skip at the end of the set was nasty... a total buzzkill (never heard something like that in space before, ouch). Closing track was sick, though, G&D's remix of mindcircus. Haven't heard that there since I saw G&D in Oct '03.

I love markus, dig all the basslines. He did play some remix of Billy Ray Martin - Put your lovin arms that I thought was pretty sick.

All in all, fun night.

Armin also played control freak (svd).
