Camera folks (Drew, Clovis) -- need help! Emergency!!
Hey all,
So tonight my camera with its Canon Speedlite 550 EX flash on it fell off it's camera bag (about 4 inches), but at the right angle where the flash's base snapped. (damnit!)
The piece that slides onto the camera to mount it.
Anyhow, I tried using special plastic super duper clue to fix it and it did work for awhile, but a quick jolt of the camera and it snapped again. I think the angle of the break just makes it impossible to glue it solidly back together.
So my question is: Is there a place I can buy spare parts for flashes? I can't find a good place online. If there is a place, please let me know.
It looks like if I could buy the base piece of the flash it could easily be replaced as it's just a couple of tiny screws down there....I just need to the piece.
Would a place like Wolf/Ritz Camera do this? I would rather not go through Canon, supposing they offer this type of repair, for anything as going through places like that usually has horrendous turnaround time.
nevermind, think I found a place.
ANd only $10. Whew.
wat site?

And sorry, actually $15. But if it's easy to install, that will seem cheap to me.
Used to repairing things at work for hundreds of bucks min.
You can also call up Canon's Irvine center. You can get any part you want for dirt cheap.

I recently just ordered a 580EX Flash Shoe and a 20D Hotshoe.
