One of the reasons the 1000's are industry standard is that they typical don't have many, if any, problems. They're workhorses.

Saying that i have notcied i na few dj's diary etc that they have had problems with cdj1000's. Probably just down to the amount of use they get

heard that they can freeze and that the platter can stick an not move!!

its alot of money to pay so youd expect a flawless playback...

never heard anything about them long term...

from my experience they are a dream to use, time will tell!!

For what it's worth my CDJ800 mk1's are still as perfect as the day I bought em (around 3 years). Having said that they're only used in the bedroom not a club & it's only over the last 12 month that I've really had chance to start giving them a caning

I had one of mine die in the middle of a set. I went to go put in a new cd and all of a sudden it shut off then came back on with very weird characters on platter display. I just think it was a defective unit to begin with since i never had a problem with either deck over the last 2 years.

My own CDJ-1000 MK2's have been fine, but I obviously only use them at home and have had them for just over a year.

I played out at a club last month, and the DJ after me had the CDJ-1000 totally lock up during a mix...

Also, my friends recently bought a CDJ-1000 MK3, and the pitch is messed up on it.

So while they ARE generally reliable, they do have issues like anything else.

Yeah you do. Numark TTX1s have got a built-in detector to check that you've got the platter on the deck before you start playing (cos otherwise the motor's unloaded and it can get damaged) - it's pretty standard for that detector to mess up about a year into the deck's life and it starts deciding the platter isn't on the deck when actually it is, disabling the motor and stopping you from playing any records... you have to give it a bit of a shove to get it to work again.
