Your reason for your #1 Vote.

I am curious as to what reasons people have in why they chose who they did for #1 DJ in the world. Everyone knows I keep a good open mind to most EDM so I am not here to slag anyone and their reasons. With that being said...

I voted Armin van Buuren because first of all he has deserved it for quite some time now, kind of how people felt about PvD finally winning it last year. Although, the difference, I feel is that Armin STILL deserves it. He consistantly creates an incredible vibe throughout his live performances and has the crowd screaming for more after every song. I have seen many dj's this year and enjoyed almost all of them but Armin stands out from them all because of the simple vibe that he creates. It is almost as though you could be blind folded in a club and still know he is dj'ing due to the tracks he plays (he does have his own sound) and the crowd reaction (chanting his name doesnt count! )

He has also done so much for this community, in my mind. His ASOT show has and still is a huge success. It gives those of us who can't spend all day searching for tunes to hear the latest and greatest that some dj's are hammering in the clubs, including Armin. And one great thing that Armin constantly does is thank his fans. He knows why he is where he is today, because of his fans and the people who listen to his music and dj sets.

With all that being said, I can't wait to see him again this Saturday in Washington DC at Club Fur. My brother and I are taking our mom, yes our MOM!!!! to see him! She has been bugging us to see Armin for almost a year now so we are all really excited. We know Armin is gonna lay it down proper for us all.

ok, i got this far without laughing. then I wet myself. Now, with clean underwear, I think I'll answer the question.

John 00 Fleming. Why? Because while most DJs are arrogant pricks who think the sun shines out of their ass & that of their 5 million copycat "djs" John just quietly does what he does best, mix quality sets, pick up great tracks on his label & in the world of same-sounding crap and with cookie cutter tracks and 'weblabels' polluting our ears, he brings us real trance. And he's a nice guy too.

Exact same reasons why I voted for Mylo.

...plus the fact Mylo plays more than just one genre (a LOT more!)

I vote for Armin too, because i'm a Tiesto fan.

Cause Zabiela owned Sasha with the cdjs in Feb. Its was sick.

i voted for sander, and meh i rly havnt been impressed with him alot this year, couple of hot really hot songs he has been canning but nothing out of this world. but noone else has impressed me just a bit this year exept him.

maybe its a loyalty thing, iv enjoyed his stuff years before... maybe im in false hope that he will go back to that sound, by the end of the year though, he kinda has been going back to the more progish sound.

I voted armin so he gets even more commercial than he is now, produce even shittier tracks and will eventually receive more bashing than Tisto !

P.s: I also voted for armin because he is gay

Looks like Armin hating has begun; he has beaten Tiesto now on this website.

-1 to all this attack on him.

I voted for Andry Nalin, an unpopular DJ although not in Germany.. he plays the music I like (same records I'd like to have) and he has an excellent technique (usually combines vinyls and cd's in his sets)

digweed keepz it realz

Posted by Shamez214 on Sep-06-2006 20:04:

James Zabiela. Because of this: http://www.protonradio.com/show.php?showid=261 and many, many other reasons.

my reason for my #1 vote was because that particular dj stood out from all the others ive seen since the last vote...im presuming thats what most sensible people do??

Posted by DOOMBOT on Sep-06-2006 20:28:

I also wanna say I was literally 50/50 between Armin and Digweed. The only reason I picked Armin is because I'm more into Trance then I am Progressive House.

you would have thought, but i'm sure its not the case for the majority

Mine would've gone to somebody else (probably Zabiela or Holden), but after seeing Matthew Dear & listening to a bunch of his sets (yes, I'm aware of the Dear/Audion difference), he's just on a different level, it seems. Despite the fact that it was a "live" set when I actually saw him in person, it was the best set I can recall hearing, live or otherwise. Perfect mixing, the best progression I'd heard in a long time, and just top-knotch tracks. The same basically went for his "dj" sets as well (though, as noted by some, the two are so similar nowadays because of Ableton, there's almost no difference anyways). I had no choice...and I figured more people would know of him as Matthew Dear than Audion, so I decided to use the former.

Posted by luisjb82 on Sep-06-2006 23:27:

I voted Eduardo Javith because the first time I saw him, warming up for Tiesto this year I was really impressed... then next couple of times I checked him at the club, he just played the sickest and darkest house I've ever listened to, great flow altogether not just banging tracks after banging tracks without much thought, he carefully delivered the best at the exact right moment... So instead of supporting a well known DJ as Cattaneo (whose sets have owned me badly too) I have decided to support this local talent who I expect to break top 100 soon very soon, he deserves it.

As band wagon as this may this sound...whatever I don't care.

M.A.N.D.Y

I voted for them because....I enjoyed their DJ sets...albeit they're not the greatest DJs. but their track selections always appealed to me..their Essential mix was quite enjoyable..and a few other sets..

Hopefully I'll be able to catch them on their upcoming US tour.

haha, good thinking. i've done this on previous years for the same reason but didn't think of it this time. i actually want him (armin) to get to number 1, for several reasons

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Sep-07-2006 00:01:

Because of all the sets I downloaded this winter, Desyn's are the ones I'm still listening to. I always liked House, but now I'm completely hooked.
