Long time, no see everyone. what can i say? i have been a wee bit distracted lately.
so i was sitting in my apartment yesterday (labor day) all alone and in the dark. you see, my power had gone out. now i didnt lose my power during the 'hurricane' mind you, but aparently ernesto farted on florida as he limped away. and his stiff rear breeze was just enough to knock out my power for 2 hours.
as i sat there, eating my teriaki chicken and beef fried rice, my brain finally relaxed as i listened to the rain. everything just went blank for a few minutes. i closed my eyes and the sound of the raindrops filled my ears and washed over my brain.

memories
places... all played against the back of my eyelids to the soundtrack of a summer rain. i wont bore you with what i saw, but lets just say i covered several miles in my soul.
then it was over.
i was awakened from the dream by the sound of light. i learned back in boot camp that light actually has a sound. it does. it has a sound. especially when your mind is elsewhere.
anyway i was inspired by the experience to get back behind the decks and make my first new mix in what seems like forever. its a mix of deep sounds, techy, trancy, housy, with a tinge of electro and rock. kinda like mama used to make. it grows and slides over the ears from sound to sound. hope you enjoy it.

Listened a few times now and gotta say. I LOVE IT! Partly because it's so different that what I listen to mostly and partly because the style is so unique in general!
Very pleasant mix! Really. I may have just been in the right mood the first time but it really was the kind of diversion I needed.
First two tracks are amazing. Great transition into Les Dijnns was great. Wow what a great fucking CH000N that Trentemoller mix is! So perfect for the vibe you are building. number six is a cool one that hit me right as well. I don't think that that track would do well with me if it wasn't mixed in the way you did. You build a relaxing vibe that pushes me toward that deep house sound which has grown on me. I love track 8, the remix has grown on me, and it fits so well in this set. Track nine didn't hit me right at first. Mostly the vocal was strange, but the second listen was amazing. The build is very sick. Some very good stuff in this man. Dark in places, light in places. But the overall vibe I get is great and your style is really shining through.

thanks, your comments always mean a great deal to me. and i tell you, i was shocked how this came out because it was a spur of the moment, no planning, fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants mix. and i really wanted it to go another half hour to an hour, which is why the change of feel towards the end. i remember while i was mixing, i felt i was going somewhere. i had a clear goal in mind of how i wanted to close out my journey, only to see that i had five minutes left on the cd (hence -the laugh- cuz it waas how i felt at the moment, just sort of pulled it out of my arse)
i am so glad you enjoyed it, especially considering its chill nature.
