Free WIFI downtown toronto

Toronto Hydro Telecom has introduced free wireless for 6 months, now available in the financial district, will blanket the entire downtown core by 2007, sweet.

used it on the weekend from my hotel at sheraton centre. this service sucks. low signal and very slow. would rather pay a small fee for half decent service.

WiFi reception exponentially drops when inside buildings.... especially dense ones like offices or hotels.

I think it would be better to have this service available in the subway system just as much cuz ppl travel hours on end in the ttc and can't get reception there.

w00t, gettin a Macbook for school with air-port and bluettoth, and the new Ryerson Business building has WIFI throughout it, theres various hotspots around the school as well, but i still wanna see how good this free WIFI signal is.

mikey u have to register ur MAC ID with RESNET to get access to ryerson network. just letting u know.

(at least that has been the case in past years)

THE PROCESS HAS CHANGED -
Students DO NOT have to register the MAC address of their wireless cards

Where do you live? The service is only like Spadina/Bloor/the River/the Lake right now.

yeah I live at yonge and bloor, and I read that on October 1st it will be extended to my area - as far as I know last month it was only to queen yonge area... so yeah I live at yonge and bloor and I want free internet

lol, yeah, should be there. You're just on the edge though, so may be probs with that, I haven't really heard much about it though. I live up at St Clair, so nuthin for me
