Yarune - Myst (wwwpreview)

Hi all,

Been a while since I posted anything on here. But since I always like to get some feedback from whatever part of the world, I thought it would be a good idea to get more of my track previews up here again.

I started creating this one about 10 months ago. It needed some serious rework in the summer, cause it was ugly and not finished hehe. I liked the melody so I put some effort to it to finish it. No real big deal but I will send this around a bit as backup for my more serious work, but I dont expect too much of this. Tho i'm curious what you all think of it.

Find a 112 kbps preview below:
Yarune - Myst

Made in Cubase SX 3 with vst's like v-station, superwave, hypersonic, ...

Thanks for any comments!

I really like this track, sounds fucking tops!

You need a slight bit of work on it, but I think what you've made so far is pretty wicked, way better than half the shit that's coming out these days.

The bassline is cool but I think it can be changed and the synths seem of low quality.

Anyways, keep up the good work!

listening:

nice track, very mixed sounds, but seems like i cant get quite hold of the bassline and the hook, seems a little blurry.. percussions are nice, but hard to judge as it is in the middle of the tune. and it sounds like the main theme of the track has yet to come.

Posted by Jay M on Sep-08-2006 10:43:

Hey Subtle thanks for posting. I completely see the point, as it is in the middle of the track. I think I will post a longer sample to clear the theme up a bit. The main theme is a relaxing one i think and it's more about the overall atmosphere, which could be seen as the hook itself. That's what I like about this track most, gives it an easy listening feel.

Cheers! Anyone else?

Sounding very tops mate, still needs a tiny little bit of fleshing out huh, might sound bigger once it's in a ahigher bit rate and mastered

Other than that, top notch work as always.
Bassline is nice and flowy, intricate arping.

Cheers

Hey JM

Cool track you got here, nice drive and good bassline. However I agree with subtle in that it sounds a little thin in parts, and a little blurry.
However I would agree that the atmosphere carries it, not the most memorable song, but definitely a cool listen, well produced.

Jep, this is the style, I know from you, Jeroen.

Very nice tune. Very melodic, perfectly fitting to this nice mood.

Baseline puts itself in the background. But nevertheless sounds good to the whole thing. Would like to hear the drum a little bit more powerful, but maybe this would destroy the feeling.

Nevertheless a strong song, as all of yours.

By the way, I hope, you received my mail. And I bought your Remix of Zahiri on Audiojelly. Damn, I havent heard this one until 3 days before. It rocks!

Thanks Kris, Ricky and U-worm for the feedback!
Couldn't agree more on the criticism.

U-Worm, I think I already replied to the mail you sent.. just drop a mail what it was about..

Cheers!

Hey Partner in crime ,
I have to concurt with Subtle, now this said, about the blurry thing, I like the second part, the kinda flute in the background is really cool, relaxing, perfect for my mood,
In overall, I would try to get a cleaner sound, solid to avoid the blurry thing, other than that this is a nice tune, keep it up mate .
Kopi =o.

hey mate,

yeah, i remember this track

this is really cool, the kick and bass combination is very good, overall the track sounds a bit blurry as it was already mentioned, you should fix it. It would be nice to hear the full track sometime!

Hey cheers guys for the points. Final tweaking this weekend and then see where it goes. Will post a better sample then.

Posted by thoughtlessjex on Sep-15-2006 21:11:

The chord progression at 0:09 jangles a bit. There's nothing explicitly wrong with it, it just feels funny to me.

Personally I like the life-sized-ness of it. I'd say it doesn't need any fleshing out. I like the subtlety of this track.
