questions about recording a mix
So it seems that every time I try and record a mix I run across the problem. I usually finish the mix with errors or at times just give up. The problem is that I just can't seem to nail mixes when I'm trying to record. I never have this problem if I'm playing out or with other people. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
Depends what you class as errors! You will probably never acheive perfection so as long as you're not trainwrecking every mix I think you're probably being harsh on yourself. I'm never 100% happy with my own work but I listen to a lot of mixsets by the pro's & it's taught me that even they aren't always perfect ...except the ones who secretly use Ableton
Go with the flow & enjoy yourself
i think ur just being to picky with ur mixes i can imagine u probably listen back to a mix after recording and analyse it to much picking out the errors.
Record everything. I used to have the same problem. My mixes would be great, but when I hit that record button, id screw up everything. So i started recording everything. everytime i turned on my mixer i pressed record. after a while, i got used to having the recorder on and my mixing went back to normal.
practice young man.
