Tiesto saying, " Dont vote for me " ?

Found it kinda interesting, check it out .

Read it on he's site

New talent

Hi Everybody,

I just finished my gig in Las Vegas half an hour ago. I had an epic weekend with four great shows. I spent a couple of days in Tahoe, went to Austin Texas, a festival in Chicago and the Global festival at the Palms hotel in Vegas.

Every night I went out with the promoter of the city I was in and most of them where bringing up the DJ Magazine top 100 voting. It's a big thing for most of the promoters and most of them will book DJ's that are high on this list.

That made me think, because if that's the case the voting is important. Especially to breed new talent.
There are so many new great young DJ's out there that I feel it's time to give them a chance. I appreciate all the love and support I get from all over the world but I won this award three times so if I would win it a fourth time, it wouldn't make a difference for my career.
For the new talented DJ's around the world it could make a difference, so I would like to ask all the people who support me to vote for new talent.

Don't vote for me, vote for the new breed!

I just voted myself and my personal top 5 is:

1.Eddie Halliwell
2.Sander van Doorn
3.Serge Devant
4.Blake Jarrell
5.Richard Durrand

Thanks again to everybody who came to my shows and who bought the new single 'dance4life'!

Love,

Tisto

I think he's top 5 is bad ass

Thats Such Horseshit, If Tiesto felt that way then he would take a cut in pay and bring some Blackhole artists or any other artists on tour with him.

Instead he gets like 60K+ to DJ

Reverse psychology ftw!

j/k

I really don't know what to think of this. If he really does mean it then I do agree Tiesto is a class act. That's a pretty humble thing to do on his part.

Not humble really, just realisation that his position means very little to him anymore. He's surpassed the need to be 'popular' because i won XXX award.

Tiesto is being modest he is awesome,i liked that he gave love to Eddie Halliwell, and Blake Jarrell.Good work from the man!!

When he fails to get to number 1 again, instead of having to face the reality that he is shit, he can instead say - well look, i asked people NOT to vote for me.

Clever tactics if you ask me. The fucking turd burglar.

Yeah but there's huge potential for him to win it again, so it's a nice gesture on his part.

He just figured out this poll is rather important NOW?

Niiiice

Props on #2! SvD!! Glad he also realizes that mans talent.
That's pretty classy if you ask me...so I give kudos.

Gesture? He knows he's falling down from the 2nd place and now he's giving us his future excuses. New talent bla bla bla ....

Exactly. And the so called 'good samaritan gesture' will only go on to gain him more votes anyway. Like I said above, these are VERY clever tactics. He may be a shit DJ, but he's certainly not a stupid man. To get where he is today on such little talent is definitely a major achievement. His marketing team are second to none.

Could you be any more naive?

Posted by LiquidX on Sep-11-2006 04:01:

no matter what he does there will always be something against him.. always.

I never saw this coming from Tiesto himself. I have found a new respect for him. Yea he is right though.

I like his choices for 2 & 3
