Cheap gas at the pump thread

I think we should all list the cheap gas rates we see around town. I'm personally glad to see the price dropping, and hopefully it continues that way (but I won't hold my breath).

If you haven't noticed, Thurs nights seems to be the cheapest night of the week.

Right now at the No Frills by my house (Carlaw & Gerrard) its 79.3 cents. I bought it there a couple hours ago when it was 81.3. Now I know to wait til its dark.

Wow. I can't remember when gas was that cheap. (Must be years ago)

Posted by ak87 on Sep-08-2006 01:01:

82.3 - in hamilton

when it comes to gas prices, its cheapest:
thursdays, sundays

also one more tip
every single price you ever see from 7am-4pm, will drop around 8pm until sometime in the morning

so if gas is 85 cents at 10am, and u want to fillup cuz its cheap
wait till later, and ull save more

i learnt this from the fun task of commuting!

wow.. it has been awhile since it has been that low. I will remember this for Sunday night

I hear Quebec has fixed prices from a coworker thats been there twice for ski jump training w/ her two sons, she was saying how much higher in quebec gas prices are than in ontario bc of it

Sucks dude, Id rather have variability amoung gas stations and have lower pricse, than ahve all stations the same price, but a higher price (as it ends up being)

Posted by m2j on Sep-08-2006 03:26:

obvious man says: gas is always cheaper after dark... esp. past 12am.

yeah cheaper gas is GREAT!!

I havent drove my car since sunday though...I have a quarter tank in it...taking the TTC to work now since I have moved is not a bad change...I seriously am sick of driving so much and my luck on the roads is horrible.

I just filled up at a Sunoco close to me that was 77.5 for regular.

i don't want to be off topic, there's a minimal fixed price so that the big chains don't start price wars to kill the independants... ever seen gaz at 30 and 40 cents???

but the big difference is because there's almost not as many refineries in Quebec as compared to Ontario so less competition.

I use this site for almost 3 yrs, the best prices will drop at 10pm - 12am. Nat the cheapest gas of all of TO is in your area, O'Conner and Coxwell.

Use this site and set it to your local area.

not quite... the gas stations by my house start to drop their prices around 8pm and that's when the lineups start to form. After midnight the prices go back up.

Lowest price I saw last night was 75.5 @ Lawrence & Kennedy 11:30pm

Posted by klago on Sep-08-2006 13:10:

Gas is still 104.9 in Thunder Bay.

I nearly fell over when I saw the price in Toronto.

it's not that they fix their prices.. they just tax gas way more then in say Ontario..

those bastards gouge the ghetto scarberians at the mid 85ish cent range but on average Richmond hill is around 77 cents....no logic.

LOL.. it's to keep them at home so that they don't spill over into other suburbs and bring their 'trouble'

Posted by locodawg on Sep-08-2006 16:10:

I hate it when the gas stations lines are pouring onto the streets, and people start honking there horns because ppl are lined up on the streets, or when people start trying to bud in line at the pumps...

Dont get it, just go around if they are pouring onto the streets.

And if there is a line wait your turn, its not like they are going to jack up the price while ur standing in line... people with no patients.

In Quebec the provincial sales tax applies and in the Greater Montreal area there's a 1.5 cents for the developpement of mass transit.

So on a buck worth of gaz, we have an additional 9 cents. But that doesn't explain why there's a 15 cents and more between Montreal and Toronto. In my previous posts i explained why.
