Burning Man 2006 Photos
Burning Man is an annual week long art festival(read week long mad mad party) in Nevada Desert. It's been happening every year for the past 20 years. This year it was attended by over 40 thousand people. Unfortunatley, I coud not attend this year, but after hearing about the experience from some of the people who have gone, I have now made this my top priority to attend next year.
Anyways.. here are the pictures:

If I was in you, I would of gone the first yr I landed in Cali ... The Burning Man parties are legendary, I first heard about them in 99.
I know that Red Turtle and his gf went there this year. Can't wait to hear their stories.

| The Uchronians made this. According to SFGate: "Measuring almost 200 feet long, 100 feet wide and almost 50 feet tall, Uchronia is one of the most dominating structures on the playa this year. Born from a conversation in a Belgian pub, creators Jan Kriekels and Arne Quinze, along with 90 volunteers, built the timber installation over the past few weeks in Black Rock Desert." |

that is friggen awesome
I've been saying for years that I'm going to go one of these years.
To Do list: +1
I'm speaking to Ilyia now and he commented on this thread. I wish I had seen it. I was looking at some of the past pictures from 2004...this party looks INSANE! I would love to go sometime.

I wonder if that if that gathering might hold the world record for the largest amount of drug consumption in a one week period...or would the crowd at Guv on any given Saturday night still hold that one?
cool pics...that must be insanity.
nice pics , hope you are keeping generally well!
i wonder if that wood installation was built by Theo Jansen? if so u gotta check his stuff out here:

That wooden thing was apparently built by some Belgian Web Designers, and cost over 500,000 USD to built

Just added to my "things to do before i die" list! Man even the PICTURES pump me up, can't imagine the amount of energy you'd feel actually being there

kinda ironic that they throw this mass "hippie-esque" party in the middle of the desert...and then burn mass quantities of a depleting natural resource.
I've always wanted to go to one of these festivals...someday when i have money....
its definately on my Things to do Before I Die list..
