Wii to get Super Paper Mario, lose DVD playback?
http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/07/w...yback/#comments
' ' Wiimote battery life is estimated at around 60 hours using the AA batteries ' '
why in the blue hell that thing uses AA bateries ?
and why in the blue hell you need 60 hours of life ,you know not even my cellphone has that.
' ' On the downside, it appears that the Wii will also be DRM infested as the other consoles; your downloaded Virtual Console games will not be playable on other consoles than your own. ' '
yeah im zero exicted about this since i can play all those games right now! on my pc without paying a dyme i can easily tend to guess that nintendo will charge atleast 30$ for downloading zelda games.
seriously after the AA on the revomote and now this
' ' Wii lose DVD playback? ' '
no dvd playback.
no 5,1 support.
no hd support.
not even a hrd drive included.
and yet they wanna charge like 250$ for that modified game cube with a tv remote that has eyetoy technology ,pls
i feel sorry for all the people who are going to buy a wii at launch its actually a 50$ system.
600$ for PS3 is more but its a console thats going to be worht every penny with all that it offers easily worth atleast 1000$.
game cube is the last nintendo console i will own in my life, bye bye nintendo.
Meh, everything you linked to is pure speculation with no real meat backing it up yet... I'll wait until I hear something official from Nintendo.
I dont care, really, i already have a dvd player, i dont have sorround sound, and 512mb of flash memory sounds reasonable enough even for storing several N64 games.
Also 60 hours seems reasonable enough for 2 AA batteries. I alredy have several reachargable pairs so i dont see the problem with those.
did the $179 rumor diminish?
fyi guys.... nintendo's stock price is shooting through the roof!!!!!
To bad i dont have any spare change, i should have invested
So it will not use rechargable batteries?
Flippin sweet... just when I offload my cash in to something else
Why any of you are buying this all as fact from a blog posting that is clearly founded solely on speculation is beyond me...
nintendo is trying to play safe on this one they try to sell a console to make profit since day one ,they are a very poor company and cant loose money like Sony and microsoft.
this is just an experiment to milk their fan base if this doesnt work (nintendo power glove, nintendo virtual boy) then this can kill nintendo and it will die like Sega and Atari.
good beacuase 3 companies battleting the gaming world is to much two is more then enough. nintendo needs to take die it only makes marios and boring games now this with a stupid gimmick.

Saying that Nintendo is a poor company is just a poorly thought statement. Nintendo has almost always been pulling in double profit since the NES days, due to the Gameboy.
Even when Nintendo's consoles weren't selling well the Gameboy was always there to back them up.
Only Sony has just recently began to tap the handheld market, and I can't exactly say that it is going as well as Sony intended it would. UMD is basically a dead format, and a bunch of film studios have already backed out or will be backing out in the near future.
Sure, the Wii will barely have graphics better than current-gen systems (PS2, Xbox), but what the system lacks in power it will makeup for in gameplay.

Yeah I definitely wouldnt call the PSP a failure. I dont think it will end up like the Ngage or whatever it was. UMD is done though
Don't get me wrong, I love my PSP to death and it's only starting to get better as time goes on. I'm just not sure that the PSP is doing as well as Sony expected it to.
Most of my 3rd and 4th quarter game purchases have been going towards PSP games actually. Tekken Dark Resurrection, Loco Roco, GTA: Vice City Stories, Lumines II, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon Unchained, Power Stone Collection, Mercury 2 and maybe 1 or 2 more I can't think of at the moment.

yep Dreamcast was the shit lol. Guys, of course PSP isn't turning out like it was supposed to! Sony knows this. You see what that big screen has accomplished? Hardly anything worth calling notable. Dont' get me wrong it's a great portable system though. Although supposedly the figures say the system is selling ok, the games sure aren't, save for GTA and a few others. A lot of publishers are pulling out. Psp HAS BEEN the closest to take on Nintendo, but the sales don't lie. Come November when Portrait of Ruin comes out....own4g3!!!!
tempted to order one for xmas, due for release on 8th december in the UK unless it changes. I like the idea of being able to access so many of the older games
