State of Muzik August 06 mix..Tall Paul, Radiohead, Broken Social Scene, G&D

Here to close the summer off with a State of Muzik for August

The first song is a beautiful guitar driven song by Broken Social Scene. It was used in the movie Half Nelson with Ryan Gosling and the song is just as beautiful as the movie. Really great way to kick things off I felt.

Alot of people dont know that I really love minimal. Give me some Holden, Petter, Extrawelt, Ripperton, Apparat and Nathan Fake and I'll love you forever. I heard this in a couple of dj's recent sets and felt it had a lot of emotion and really hits when you least expect. Great opening song here I hope you enjoy.

Right into a more progressive styled minimal song by Gabriel & Dresden. Trust me its not like alot of their older music which is why I love it. Scarlet Ettiene's influence was perfect for this song.

I decided to get a little housey here with some Tall Paull and Dave Aude. Great track with smooth vocals and killer guitar. This should set the mood perfect for a night out ^^

Into a huge song remixed by Supermodels from Paris. A nice house feel with that dirty progressive bassline makes this a dancefloor killer. Gets me dancing everytime and I hope it does the same for you <(^^<)

Joonas Hahmo has been on fire lately Im loving every song/remix he delivers. Beautiful progressive song here that will surely stay in your head days after hearing it.

Keeping the energy going but also a bit relaxing at the same time is a remix for Everything In Its Right Place. Mike Foyle did the original a great service here and it keeps alot of the original and he adds a great danceclub touch here.

Most people will frown upon the following song simply by looking at its creator. A shame though Maxi's voice is as fluid as ever. If you dont know who Maxi Jazz is he's the lead vocalist for Faithless so you know him best probably from God is a Dj. The track has faithless influence all over but im definitely not complaining about it. Nice song here from Tijs much different from his past work and that melody is too catchy to deny. A good portion of the proceeds from this song go to Dance4Life a HIV/AID's awareness program I urge everyone to check it out and support this awareness through music its a great cause.

Remixing a track most people have so many memories attached to and even consider a classic is hard. I think Mac nailed it perfectly hear only sampling only the melody and adding his tech touch. Great song to use before or after you throw your peak hour tune on. Sure to make alot of ravers go crazy <(^^<)

Joonas is back again on remixing duties. This remix for David West's Suffering Island is unbelievable. The track is all over the place and full of constant energy. This was a perfect matchup for two of my favorite producers and I couldnt be happier with the end result.

If you've listened to my live sets or asked me some of my favorite songs of all time Ice Beach would always pop up. It's still one of my favorite songs that has that perfect feel and melody to it. Jonas Steur took a stab at adding a harder trance touch and what great song he created in the end. Sure to be in all my future live sets.

Capoeira is a stunning guitar track and although I liked Airbase's remix I adore this one much more. Hawk added great emotion to this and his touch is all over the place. If you liked his remix for So Serene you heard in my Late Nights Volume 3 mix then your really in for a treat here.

Finally finishing it all off is an incredible song from Gabriel, Dresden and Jes. Unfortunately this was never released or remixed officially. Even though its a rip I had to use it. It might even bring a tear to your eye. Trust me its a beauty.

I hope everyone enjoy's I had a great time putting this one together and glad to say this should close off the summer well.
