DJs & their living rooms

These pics were featured in a magazine and someone on Livesets was kind enough to scan them... pretty neat to get a glimpse of their living space

as someone pointed out in the other thread though... seems like they only allow white walls in Germany :P

I like Sven's pad the most..

ALI SCHWARZ (TIEFSCHWARZ)

ATA (Robert Johnson/Playhouse-Owner)

ELLEN ALLIEN

RICHIE HAWTIN

Post modernism sucks.

It's a silly term anyways. How can something be post modern? Isn't modern suppose to mean like now?

+1. I thought that maybe at least one of them wouldn't have white walls.

Ritchies is an eye soar...I'd expect less (in the good way)

yeah M.O. has a ton of vinyl, but I have a feeling these other guys have more stashed away in other areas of the house too.
Mark Scaife (sp?) was selling a thousands of records on Tribe a few years back claiming it was only making a small dent on his collection, much like Max Graham more recently. Think of all the years of buying, creating and playing. It wouldn't surprise if these guys used to drop 10k + a year of records before they got big enough to get lots of them for free.

not in the world of art. i was always under the impression that "modern" was the "mod era" of 60s and 70s and obviously post modern is after that.

but what do i know anyways, i ain't no artist.

You mean eye sore?

I wonder how many chicks Sven's had on that carpet. It's pure pimp.

nope you're right, we apparently hit "modernity" in the 60's....

Interesting to see those.
Love the look of those turntables with a cutout in the table for mounting them. Nice and clean.

SVEN VTH FTW!

I like how his turn tables are gold. Classy.

Austere. It goes to show what a tremendous space whore a vinyl collection can be. I'm glad I scaled back.

all of those places look tres de merdes...inimpressed...cool post though unfortunatly while their equipment may be better than mine, the setup looks like le garbage.
