Always doing a terrifick job with the layout when it comes to Paranoik, Good job mate

I'll be rooting for Werder Bremen and Chelsea in Group A, while I'll sympatize with Internazionale, Bayern, Lyon, and a couple of other regulars that I use to sympatize with.

But, I'll be rooting for CSKA Moscow.

Caught the second half of the roma game, seemed to look pretty good, some cracking strikes. Same old same old for inter I see as well.

Posted by zoric on Sep-12-2006 20:41:

PSV vs. Liverpoor was a pretty entertaining game even though there was no goals scored.

Also, Got to say that Morientes is on fire by scoring a hattrick against Greek Olympiakos.

Damn technical difficulties made it difficult to enjoy the game. Gerrard almost scored the winning goal for his team but hit the post. Unlucky.

Or you could have lost?

Very surprised by Roma's huge beating over Shakhtar, altho it only came in the last few minutes. I know Shakhtar don't have a name in Europe yet, but they have tons of potential, i find it odd that they never go far.

Sporting's win might come as a shock to some of you, and i did predict the opposite result, but from the pre-season i knew Sporting had everything to be the surprise of the competition. When the draw put Inter and Bayern in their way I dropped the idea, but apparently Inter isn't as strong as expected, let's wait and see.

No goals in Group C it did look boring in paper. IMO all of today's results except Shakhtar and Sporting were pretty much what was expected.

As for who'll win the entire competition, it's a random lottery to bet on a single team IMO, the long knockout stage makes it too unpredictable. I'll name 5 teams then: Chelsea, Barcelona, Lyon, Real Madrid and Man Utd.

I'll update results and standings in a bit. I see some of you like it, thanks, but it's just the layout of the WC thread slightly simplified.

the only thing i don't like is club restrictions

realy? I thought it sucked.

Roma off to a good start good chance of them getting through, I was rooting for Werder Bremen i like their style of play but not strong enough for Chelsea..maybe if Bremen get through only IF they will be even stronger like they were against Juventus last season.

Nothing unusual from Barcelona
PSV putting up a good fight against Liverpool (I think both teams go through)
Inter suffering in opening game, may this lead to an early exit?
Valencia off to strong start

Olympiakos got bombed.

srsly those muppets were claiming that they will finish 1st without a deafeat.

AEK today should be fun. xxx

Sure was a pretty interesting game, entertaining aswell. No goals, but there are games which are good even though there's no goals being scored.

I thought it sucked as well, though I only caught about last 30 mins of it

Posted by zoric on Sep-13-2006 16:22:

That's probably why you thought it sucked, but I love tactical games and the Liverpool-defence was pretty stable.

Not many good chances, but the tempo was great and ofcourse, Liverpool didn't allow anything. They were close to win this game though, Gerrard with the shot in the post.

Posted by Cloud on Sep-13-2006 16:37:

Zoran's fair play blah blah blah... (yeah i stole your smile )

Posted by zoric on Sep-13-2006 16:38:

Fair Play and Tactical Play isn't the same thing, mate. With all respect, you should know that by now
