Pfft, Subaru, lol. At least could have bragged about their WRC accomplishments. O wait, they're in 3rd place this year, and finished in 4th last year.

Audi needs to get into F1 or back into rallying or something. When Citroen wins rally championships, you know there's something not right.

hahaha...those ads are awesome.

I'd take the STi over anything *comparable* from BMW or Audi (so save the M3/M5 or S4 nonsense, that's a different price level altogether)

300+hp and 300+lbs./ft. tq. + arguably the best AWD system in a production car + a great aftermarket thanks to its WRC heritage along with a sub 50k price tag. Sweet.

Posted by Speedy2k on Sep-13-2006 21:33:

Fucking awesome ads! Yeah for the price... the STI is unbeatable!

Posted by CAKE on Sep-13-2006 21:53:

Those are F-ing awsome

Posted by English Rachel on Sep-13-2006 21:57:

The way ads should be!

Okay you take your $48,995 Impreza WRX STi and I'll spend $2,605 more and get a 2007 BMW 335i Coup, what with that twin-turbo 3.0 litre inline six pot that is fuelled by passion and lovemaking from across the globe

You just made me throw up. If I wanted that much sap I'd rape a pine tree.

You have a point though, the STi is overpriced. The plain WRX gives you a great price to performance ratio.

The STI is ridiculously overpriced. Even the regular WRX is overpriced. $37,000 for a BASE model WRX sedan? Go fuck yourself, Subaru. I'll go spend $28k on a Mazdaspeed 3.

Oh and also, this is the best advertisement EVER:

"Even a Mercedes can bring driving pleasure."

Everything is fucking overpriced these days. Except Corvettes!

That Mazda for $28k isnt bad at all.

Oh and by $28k I mean $30,995 MSRP.

Still not bad considering the specs on it. BIG improvement over that joke of a Mazdaspeed Proteg they released a couple years ago.

What? The MS Protege was sweet. I'd love one. It takes very, VERY well to more boost, apparently.

It desperatly needed that more boost. 175hp from a turbo and intercooled 2.0 litre? That's only a 35hp increase from the normal 2.0 in the granny Proteg.
Honda was pumping 200hp from an NA 2.0 in the RSX the same year!

And the MS Protege was $26k while the RSX was easily $33+.

That's because it was a pansy car.

Also, Honda is the most overpriced car company as far as I'm concerned.

well...that's a matter of choice...comaparing a brute rally-inspired car with a luxery coupe is apples and orangess. You're also comparing a brand new model with a one that's been around for many years (and a car with agruably the best AWD system in a car).

personally, if I was dropping 50k on a luxery sport coupe, it would be the new G35, not a BMW...as it's not all about numbers.

(btw, not critiquing their engines, which consistently rank among the very best, if not being THE best...but the BMW twin-turbo setup adds a measely 70 peak hp to the base inline six? Isn't that a bit...weak? Meh...I'd like to see power curves for both cars before really commenting much...I don't know anything really about the new 335).

The MazdaSpeed 3 looks *sweet*...I've really liked with MS has been doing...I'd take one over a RSX in a heartbeat.

after selling the Talon a couple of years ago and becoming a mere pedestrian...i've been woefully out of touch with the new car lineups

Posted by King Luis on Sep-14-2006 22:22:

BMW owns all (except Porsche)

335i is so much better then the STI. Also, BMW will be coming out with a 335ix. AWD coupe to shut up Audi.

If I had the money to purchase a new car a mazda would definitely be my (affordable) choice. The MS is a sick looking car too.
