Christopher Lawrence 'Batman Begins' (CL Bootleg Remix)
Stumbled onto this on MySpace and like it very much, a bit different for Christopher Lawrence, more ethereal and dreamy than his normal sound. You can listen to the remix on the MySpace audio player (quality is poor though) and apparently his management is giving away 500 free downloads if you read his page. I am guessing that this remix won't ever be released because it is unlicensed??
You can get the info at http://www.myspace.com/djchristopherlawrence
Good but not great. I'm a big fan of the Batman Begins score much because of the amazing atmosphere Zimmer and Howard created, this bootleg thing from CL doesn't capture that atmosphere. The spooky rythmic sounds he uses in the intro (sampled from "Vespertilio") and the female vocals in the break are the only references to the BB score, and then of course the strings riff, but it's not really a unique BB-thing, there are similar-sounding or almost identical ones in many other film scores.
I quite like this.
I like the intro, and what i particulary like is them soaring spiritual like female vocals. The only thing that slightly puts me off is the string riff which you hear constantly throughout the track.
Not his best, but still a good tune.
Perfectly put SMC. Its pretty ballsy to go after a score as beautiful and well done as Batman Begins, but nevertheless someone will do it. Also, CL looks like a damn cult leader in his my space picture.
I think that if you listen to it as a stand alone track, it is quite strong, kind of haunting.
Of course nothing can compare to the Hans Zimmer original soundtrack, but I really like this.
I have done some digging today and from what I can tell, the Batman people commissioned the remix, then shelved the entire project.
hmmm nothing special as a song, but kind of lost respect for CL since he said he hated artists who remixed this kind of stuff.
I love this song. I keep listening to it.
I entered to win a download but haven't got an email back yet to tell me if I won.
Does anyone know if there is a way to make a mp3 from the myspace player?
i like it.
very nice.
I like it as well. It's tough, but got a surreal feel.
Christopher never fails to impress me, his Essential Mix was off the hook.
I heard it just yesterday while on his myspace site...I kinda like it, its dark and haunting.
I'm watching him live on the 23rd
