How is is not illegal to walk around naked during the Love Fest?

I am curius why it is not illegal to walk around naked at an event like this? If I went to the mall or disneyland naked I would be arrested in minutes, so why does the police allow it at an event like this?(I think everyone should walk around naked by the way )

Well, for starters, I didn't see anybody complaining about it last year aside from a, "Uhh, wtf? Don't look! " even when a confused transient sat down right in front of us and got naked.

I guess it's because of the over all concept of the parade, which is exceptance of all cultures and types of people. That, and "LoveFest" or "Love Parade" sounds like a gay parade to those who don't know what it is.

i think its legal in san fran, if it isn't its not enforced. I did see one person tell a police officer there is a naked old man over there, and the police man said yes there is and walked off.

It's illegal just not enforced. So a cop could still arrest people and be in the right.. They just conveniently choose not to and people conveniently make extra use of that fact on that day.

It's the same situation with many things in many places I think... Think of how a cop who clocks you doing 80 in a 65 road pulls you over then doesn't give you a ticket. He caught you breaking the law, but doesn't have to bust you. It's just what happens when you have laws that aren't really right or that people don't wholeheartedly believe in.

francisco has a lot of events where these things happen. the pride parade is much worse. the cops are very selective in what they want to enforce around here. its just northern cali, nobody gives a shit

in my experience (seeing im a norcal native) norcal is less tolerant of more edgy things in general. the bay area is overall quite tolerant but thats because there are lots of gays and hippies. it seems as though it is changing slowly but sureley to be more tolerant but still has a lot of intolerance.
