The Younger people

Hey guys, I've read alot in this part of TA.com that the people here dont like people who are 18 or around that age. Why is that? I would like to know.

because they hinder my ability to get to the bar, and get my next beer.
and people who get between me and my next beer suffer.

i dont have a problem with them as long as they dont start blowing their god damn whistles in the middle of my ferry set. but im not even 21 yet.. a few more months.. i guess im considered to be in that group still=/

Posted by tranzcowboy on Sep-15-2006 00:24:

im only 18 but i understand why we are hated...most 18 year olds have no idea what trance music is and only know about tiesto and paul van dye...they dont go to space for music because there is a good dj...they go just because their friends are going to do...and they are always falling over everyone and acting stupid cuz they are fucked up

I think the reason why most of the 21 and older crowd don't like being in events with 18 year old or under. Is cause they have a repution for being imature and causing trouble sometimes.

Or vice-versa, like 5/31/03, at Space for Tisto, and someone yelled PVD. I was like, wtf what a n00b.

there's a few exceptions.

obviously i know u more from anjuna forums.. but ur into music and learning. only thing is your age prevents you from going to these parties.

on the other hand. there's ppl like i read in the armin review, walking in the choo choo train and bumping into the mirrors at space. obviously going for the wrong reasons.

i just think if all these lil kids can go to a hip hop club and say 'YO that's the new Jay Z tune'.. then why can't they put that effort into edm.

PvD doesnt only spin PVD tracks.. Same with Tiesto and all the other dj's they sweat.

shit i know plenty of people over 21 and even over 30 that do that shit and worse at space all the time!

seeing alot of young people at these trance events is a good thing, they r the future, they will mature just like all of us did. if they dont go to these events trance will not do well. big crowds are essential to the growth of these events.

Nice one.

Well I do hate that many people dont know much or what they should know about the music, & I do dislike those who love nobody but tiesto. Basically 98% of the people I know who are going to BMF are just going for him. I just dont get it. But when I go to Space like next year ima act mature and hopefully set an example for my fellow peers of the same age.

Your points are somewhat valid.

But I think the 21 and over crowd on here, such as myself, would like to have at least SOME trance events that are 21 and over. Otherwise many of the events involving big name DJs get overly packed with many underage people that are not there for the music at all and will never truly be into EDM, and who instead are only following their friends to a place where they can get into for once (like Space) and get messed up at. The current fans who are of age in turn pay for it by not even being able to hit the dancefloor without being trampled, meaning many current true fans turn away from the events.

i hear ya bro, im wayyyyyyyy over 21 and i hate the big crowds to, but they are inevitable, i think people may stay away just cause of the big crowds under 21 or not, big crowds at space are a mission. but little crowds = less profit = no more booking of trance acts

Hello FL from NY

Hi NY from FL

In many other countries, parties are 18+ and I dont have a problem with it. I think here it wouldn't be as much of an issue if the djs spun at a lesser known club than space. if they were spinning at a club that isnt just known for the name, a lot of the idiots would stay home. The thing that sucks about space is it's considered the "cool place to go" by a lot of younger people who dont care about the music but rather about bragging about how they went there and how fucked up they got. and kids who do know about the music and can handle themselves when they get fucked up are ok by me, unfortunately, that's not the majority of the people under 21 at these events.

business is business so i can't be obliged to escape - especially if im entertaining clients.

however I'm trying to make this a dual purpose trip since I only have to meet with 1 client (hopefully on a friday then for dinner) and the weekend i have to meet with one of the partners for an e-business i'm part of. Pretty sure that won't go the duration of the night so that might mean i can do a late friday or saturday party and back to NY sunday.

It looks like in October atm, but i'll definitely msg if i'm on the move.
