[Review] Christopher Lawrence & DJ Irene @ Crobar

Had no plans whatsoever of going to this. Stan dragged me out last minute haha. It was awesome. Chris started off a little funky-ish and then picked up in to some nice hard bangin' psy trance. Fucking rocked so much. Then Irene just pounded that shit away. Both DJ's are fucking cool as hell. Mad friendly! Really good times. Haha I had an old VIP wristband from the Ferry parties. I went to use it to get on stage and the bouncer was like "Why is this all beat up" - I'm like, "well I can't lie to you, it's from another party" - he's like "Ah fuck it, come on up!" I see they haven't changed the colors of the band yet. We'll see if it works for Armin @ Crobar :-p

How was DJ Irene? I've never heard her live, but her sets are all absolutely crazy and hard as all hell.

I dunno but her mix on the new Ultra Trance CD 6 sucks.. Decent selection, but the mixing was off. Can't believe Ultra released that! I thought compilation mixes nowadays are supposed to be on point 100%...

What's up to my boys? Well, after Rob threw a TOWEL at my head on-stage lol to get my attention, I snuck him up.

Anyway, CL ROCKS baby fuck yeah! So glad I finally saw him live! Shit, it was empty in there, almost as lifeless as Ferry at Borgata. Eh, who cares, I had the man all to myself. What a sweetheart! Holy shamoly, I love DJs! Oh, and I got on Irene's camcorder lol she's a pip, as my mom would say.

CL's set was very dark and melodic, and impeccably mixed. Wow, he is freaking INTENSE on-stage! Reminded me of S&D in April. But, he turned around to wave and smile at me

He gets one of my votes, but sorry, Sean Tyas has rocked, I mean, tranced my world.

So...who's down for Ferry in less than a month?!?

L.E.F. reunion! i say "reunion" because it really had its own groups of people and whole crowd that went to it month after month (saw the same faces on L.E.F. nights that i didnt necessarily see at Crobar other times, even other trance nights haha kinda wierd but i miss that crowd, i never had a bad time at L.E.F. so i'll be there!!)

im pretty sure Ultra Trance has really only been tagging DJ's names on there cos all the CDs seemed mixed similarly.... also, i'm sure Ultra basically gave her a list of songs to choose from, because previous sets from Irene i've heard, although not mixed extremely well, is really hard, relentless, and banger after banger.... dunno, but i'm not usually a fan of Ultra Trance so i stay away!
