Exclamation Wollemi Pine Tree Fund!

Welcome to the TrancEaddict Wollemi Pine Fund Thread!

The Wollemi Pine is a tree that was rediscovered in Australia in 1994. It was previously thought to have been extinct for 2,000,000 years. After an extensive search of the area, only 100 more trees were found. The Wollemi Park has teamed up with National Geographic to offer these rare plants in an effort to save them from possible extinction!

Now is your chance to make a difference! Donate to the Fund and reserve your space in TrancEaddict history! The cost is only $120 for this rare and magnificant plant. Any amount donated helps and is appreciated. A portion of the cost goes to help continuing conservation research.

If you wish to donate, please send money to [email protected] on paypal.
The tree will go to a good home to local TA gardener Sunsnail.

BUT WAIT! There's more! The donators get to vote on the name of the tree, no matter how "rediiculase" the name is.

Many many thanks to the following people:
venomx $8.71
Ourboard $20
Demoted $10
tubularbills $1
DJ RJT $15
Ygrene! $5
random classmates $7.62
(Your name could be here! Donate now!)

Yea, these trees existed from approximate 200,000,000BC-2,000,000BC. They thought that they became extinct then, but a few dozen trees have survived for that long

It's located inside Wollemi Park, which the tree is named after. The precise location isnt revealed because they don't want anyone going near them and perhaps introducing disease.

It's in the Blue Mountains, around two hours west of Sydney. I would use the term "mountains" pretty loosely there, since they are more like large hills than mountains.

Massive wilderness area there, and its a protected national park, so it would be very difficult to find. They only found it by helicopter in the first place i think.
